Would it be possible to take a fiberglass tank and use some kind of bladder to keep it sealed in a crash? I doubt it will be as strong as a steel tank, but it should still work better than just fiberglass. The difficult parts would be the filler and the port for the fuel line.
#147
i am sure you could do it it would be a bunch of work adn you can probly find one made of steel or alum for a lot less work

They are not legal on the road in the UK, not sure about US law though.

Whats up guysWas doing research on stuff for my current cafe project and stumbled across this thread....love the collection of bikes you guys have thrown up!! And if you can get ahold of that kz650 i saw somewheres back there get it!! They make great cafe project bikes and you dont get hotter stock motors than Kaws... While the CB Hondas are easier to get parts and mods for, they'll never run as hot and responsive as a Kaw or Suzuki, plus the Zuk's and Kaws are lighter than the big 500 lbs CBs which makes em easier to flick for you guys that like to carve the turns like me. It's a shame its hard to find tins tanks and seats that'll bolt right up on em, too, cos you can find the bikes themselves rather cheap if you look around a bit...
#153
which model 440 do you have?? I have one also, the ltd, which i picked up cheap as a putter ( the 440 likes to live in the top end, and unfortunately, it runs out of gears and grunt real fast) Keep in mind that the LTD will have a kicked up backbone and will make it hard to cafe without it looking funny...Still...you can hot the heck outa that bike...just watch it on the highway..if you've any size to you at all its short wheelbase, seating arangement, and scant 380lbs make it rather twitchy if you dont get over the tank to keep the front wheel down...

Dude! The closest thing about your bike to a cafe-racer is the fact that it is a marketing scam.*kiss*

No dude, just you.
Everyone is tired of you whoring out your store-bought creampies.
Build yourself, screw that, just work on or do something to something you own. You will be surprised at the respect you will receive.
Spend your money in more creative ways.BTW, cafe-racers are BUILT, not BOUGHT.

where's yours then, show us oh master of the cafe's
I, and I'm sure many others could care less whether it was built or bought since this is just a picture thread, and not a build thread.

I thought it was a really slick bike, regardless of who built it. I'm not looking at the thread to gain respect for the builders; I just like the look of the bikes in it. Granted, he posted all the same pics in another thread that he started, but that's his deal. He did say he was whoring it out...Still a really great looking bike.

Then this:
Pulled it out of some guy's shed, no title, frame was toast. Lots of new/used stuff. But I see the light at the end of the tunnel, which is good!
