In car video from Sabine the driver of the Nurburgring Ring taxi:

    http://www.jwhubbers.nl/ring/joerund/legends.php

It's a good clip except for the inane nattering of the passenger.

The guy that overtakes the M5 on one wheel later died when his motor bike hit some oil.

Warning, this is a set and forget download.

    He does tours Tim?

I don't know how he can make conversation. I'd be too busy trying to push my feet thru the floorboards.

There's a bunch of guys off an email list called "ringers" who have it as a syndicate car if they can't get their own car to the track on any particular weekend for whatever reason. No tours, but they are always happy to ltake a fellow "ringer" for a pax lap or ten

I just watched a documentary called "Too Fast to Race"... All about the history of Group B rally cars in the 70's and 80's, and I really enjoyed watching it!

I just typed 'too fast to race' into the global search on easynews - it was 700mb.

You may find it elsewhere also, and if you do, GRAB IT!

Top Video that one. The in-car footage driving in the Audi is hot, as is Pikes Peak footage.

Thanks Tim! And to think I was going to pay $40 for a DVD of this.

Strangely enough, I searched "Ayrton Senna" and "Michael Schumacher" and both came up with nothing. Thought there might at least be 1 DVD on easynews?

you can post requests to the appropriate newsgroups, you know

I downloaded a Michael Schumacher documentary (made about 10 years ago) from easynews a month or so ago, it was interesting...

I have a friend who always manages to find these things, so I'll keep you updated here

I would say yes, if you ask nicely. He made a great effort to try and accommodate me when I was over there. A hell of a good guy.

If you are going, I will try and get his email address for you.

That's because I didn't. I very nearly cut my time short in Switzerland to go back to the ring to do a few laps with him, but in the end it wasn't going to happen. It wasn't for want of Keith's assistance though. I just wish I had got there a bit earlier. If only we hadn't spent the morning drinking beer and eating white sausages for breakfast.

That was a great review of the Mk V GTI. Is Stig and Jason Plato one and the same? I thought they weren't.

But Tim, I reckon that the car to get will be the new R32. Based on this chassis, it should be a cracker. It won't look as nice as the Mk IV R32, but it should be a better car.

I don't have 4 years to wait. My S will have expired (literally) by then

Maybe get a GTI (enough of a wait as it is) in the interim and THEN the new R32...?

I'm scared VW Aus will bring the GTI out here in 4 door DSG only.

    ANYWAY

THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO EVER!!! (thanks to SK for pointing it out to me )

Mmm. Nice one Tim. That small block posse clip was interesting. I've been telling Liz how safe drag racing is coz nothing bad can happen.

I think I'll be letting the other guy go first from now on. Except for Plastic. "YOU'RE DEAD MEAT BUDDY!" Hahahaha

it's so funny how the guys just watch it happen and keep on cruising past, giggling to themselves while some tool has just put his pride and joy into the wall sideways at 60km/h, and you even see it in the rear vision mirror of the camera car
