here's another stack that sent a chill down my spine (it's a WRX and the guy is screaming "NOOOO" in swedish)

It seems to be the same as the Civic Crash.

That hairpin video is unreal... I downloaded about half a dozen videos just before and watched them in succession - this was the last - after seeing the Evo in the rally I was waiting for a stack... I watched the car go sideways and I though "Ohh, shi... he is going to wipe out half the crowd..."

He skidded around the corner perfectly! 10/10!!

    Keep em coming...

I cant see it on my computer - but I hear this video is good

Mmm. That 2002 tii is something, the idea of sticking in an E30 M3 engine is great.

    absolutely perfect!

I have heard that you can get the E30 M3 motor ex-NZ very cheap through a member of the BMW car club... there is aprobably another $5000 in engineering and mods under the hood alone, let alone making the car look nice...

I was looking in the motorsports news and they had $450 Cobra fixed buckets - so I was thinking about a pair of those - without harnesses, its pretty w@nky - so I'd look at how to mount them to the floor.

My car isnt a Tii, so it doesnt worry me what I do to it... Im thinking just twin webbers and a rebuild, then some bigger brakes and get the rust in the doors done - once that is done the car will be very neat.

What is your 2002 like - condition wise? What color is it? Please dont tell me it is metallic green - as it may disappear. I love the metallic green! (and black and silver...)

Most dont understand the 2002 thing.

do you seriously have such little faith in your driving skills and would you really go as fast as that guy was (LOOK AT HIS SPEEDO!) on a WET TRACK?

I don't think any of us here would.

Yea but what about the other nutters on the track at the same time...

my old civic actually did exactly the same thing that happened in the video.
I was rounding a bend on oph in similar rainy conditions when the tail slowly slowly edged out, and the car didnt react to any of my steering or throttle inputs until it was too late.
I didn't make the swedish scream of death since it was a fairly low speed accident but it was still baffling to me how it all happened.

Prior to that day, I had absolute faith in the adjustability of cars on the limit- even though the civic sucked in this aspect.

Nowadays, I realise random 'oh crap' moments DO happen in the rain.

and yes, that is an absolutely hilarious clip whilst being very scary at the same time.

That being said, wet trackdays on good roadtyres are an absolute classic! much better than wet oph nights.

Langers I would be much more scared of random retards on public roads than idiots on the track.

The only time I can remember bad driving by others on the track was a training day with the Porsche Club, so it wasn't strictly a track day. There was one guy that was driving too aggressively, but he was really only a danger to himself.

Other than that, nothing springs to mind. Are you speaking from experience Langers?

remember langers there is no run off area on the road, if things get a little too close on the track there is always an opportunity to bail!

People say this all the time, but it's usually easy in a track situation to recognise these types, and if you are concerned, just let them past!

Having said that, most properly organised track days with decent attendees (Burrows Drive Days are a good example) don't have such lunatics in attendance.

And as said already, random idiots on the road should be more of a concern, insurance or otherwise. Insurance only 'saves' your car you know, not your body!

Yes, I have to admit, the sound of that V10 M5 is pretty good.

    Nice clip.

The closest I'll ever get to driving the Zonda is on GT. But even when I have done, I can tell that it's one hell of a car. Compared to the AWD Nissans with 500hp, the power is so linear and the chassis so sweet. It's a thing of automotive genius.

I've been to enough PCNSW days to know that there are nutters out there!

My main fear on a track is going sideways into the gravel and rolling the car. Then I would have to pay off a car I don't have for the next 8 years.

Well would you risk not having a car for 8 years? Not worth it IMHO. I'd rather save up and buy a dodgy Mk1 track car that I can afford to write off than take the R32 on a track.

you're carrying on like we're forcing you to drive a $70k car on a track

and I'm sure you'll be earning a lot more in 8 years than you do now

    settle down

You have to take some risks in life. Think about the amount of fun you would have on a track day in an R32. Maybe you should lock the car up in the garage and just stare admire it because if you drive it on the street someone may crash into you or steal the car.

I would LOVE to have a garage for the R! And if someone were to crash into me on the street or steal the car then I'd get another R, or more likely a 911 or S3. Old saying for taking your car on a track;"if you can't afford to roll your car off a cliff, then you can't afford to take it on a track."

Now back to the videos... that WRX video scares me... how did the back end step out? He didn't have any steering angle on at the time. Guess it could be good 'ol aquaplaning?

Can someone clear this up: is there two clips or one? I have seen the one where the back steps in the wet out without warning, but I thought that was the Civic crash.

Can someone please quote both clips, sorry if I'm missing something obvious.

Thanks for posting the EVO v Lambo clip. That was great. I could watch those excerpts from Top Gear all night.

After reading Osqar's descriptive track record, I don't blame him for not owning a bike (I didn't find any of it amusing). And I don't think my personal choices are any of your business either.
