UPDATED!
We started our new Jetta Road Show in the Midwest, introducing drivers to the new Jetta with test-drives, product information and a chance to win an iPod. Now we’re taking it nationwide to several more cities in the U.S.—an opportunity to see (and drive) the new Jetta at one of our exclusive, sneak-peek events, well in advance of its official North American market launch.
Midwest - we’ve added Chicago and Milwaukee
Northeast - D.C./Baltimore, Boston, New York and Jersey
West - Frisco, San Jose, L.A., San Diego, Phoenix
South - Atlanta, Houston, Memphis, Florida
If you’re in one of these neighborhoods (heck, even if you have to drive a little), stop by and check it out.
All you need to do is register by visiting www.theroadshowhome.com.
Hurry, space has been limited for each event in order to maximize drive time for registered drivers 18 years of age or older. Don’t miss this great opportunity to see and drive the new Jetta weeks before it makes its official in-dealership debut.
See you there,
Your friends at Volkswagen

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Attention Detroit, Louisville, Fort Wayne, Dayton, Cinci, Columbus and other midwestern locales...
The new Jetta is coming, and the excitement for this all-new Volkswagen is, quite frankly, hard for us to contain.*
So we’re offering you the chance to see (and drive) the new Jetta at one of our exclusive, sneak-peek events, well in advance of its official North American market launch.
It’s the new Jetta Road Show and it’s a whole lot better than an auto show. Really—how many auto shows let you drive the car off the rotating pedestal? Exactly. While we won’t have any fancy pedestals, what we will have are test-drives, doo-dads and we’ll be giving away some iPods to a few lucky participants who register for the event and come out and take a test drive.
So, are you in?
All you need to do is register by visiting www.theroadshowhome.com.
But hurry, space is limited for each event. We’re making a list and we’re coming to town. Don’t miss this great opportunity to see and drive the new Jetta, weeks before it makes its official in-dealership debut.
See you there,
Your friends at Volkswagen

Indy's on the list of cities. Maybe they'll add Chicago too.

No joke

Boooooo, I would think the Chicagoland area is a big enough market to warrent a visit. Oh well, guess we just get left out in the cold again.

Looks like VW is trying to penetrate some markets they aren't too popular in right now.

No I can't say camry...because the camry doesn't have round headlights or rounded two piece taillights. And it's HUGE. While I don't agree with the Corolla comparisons, I at least understand where they are coming from. Camry comparisons are just totally over my head. The only think even remotely similar are the door handles (which VW had first) and the trunk overhang (which the Jetta had for three generations between 1980-1999).

too bad the car is butt ugly. I guess it should attract some potential corolla/camry buyers.

At which point did the topic say anything about discussing which car the Jetta does or does not look like? Gee, I thought maybe we should save that dead horse for the other five million Jetta V topics, and instead discuss the actual event indicated in the thread title.
So...
That its hitting the Midwest right now implies that this roadshow is going to hit other regions as well. Is that right? (Fingers crossed).
I have to hand it to VWoA. This time around, they are really on the ball. There haven't been any ridiculously long delays, there's no mis-communication as to when its hitting dealers, Volkswagen launched a full minisite at vw.com the day the Jetta V debuted (complete with a count down to the day it hits dealers), and now they're sending Jetta V models to dealers early so that customers can get a slightly early peek. Bravo! I'm impressed, considering the debacle that was the launch of the Golf R32.
Edit: Okay, so the Midwest leg is Feb. 14 - Feb. 19. That's still about a month off the time the Jetta V hits dealers, and that leaves more than enough time for Volkswagen to hit other regions. So, I'm guessing something like: Northeast, 2/20 - 2/25, Southeast, 2/26 - 3/1, Southwest, 3/2 - 3/7, West Coast, 3/8 - 3/13. Sounds like a logical route.

How about the Twin Cities?

I'm currently working in the Dayton, OH area and would love to check out the new Jetta in person. Unfortunately, I will be leaving on Friday 2/11 and heading back to Long Island. /
Any word if the Roadshow will be coming to the NY/NJ/CT area?

25. 02-08-2005 01:35 PM #25
As one of the biggest opponents to this car, I signed up to go drive one on the 17th in Dayton.
I'll report back after the drive, but I'm not overly optomistic.
Here's my prediction:
It's going to drive very well
I'm still going to think it's ugly
I'm still going to think the 2.5l sucks
At anyrate, I hope I'm wrong here. We'll see if driving it makes a believer out of me like so many of you "jetta hater" haters seem to think it will.
