Thread: High point VIII - Staurday May 8th..

  1. 04-07-2005 01:10 AM #1
I've been prodded to start this now and the majority of the peeps I've spoken to are almost in agreement on that day. Post if you're gonna be there. The usual meeting place is Willowbrook Mall in Wayne behind the Sears Auto Center around 8:30am, departing there by 10am for the drive up to High Point State Park for the usual BBQ... Some still haven't driven the Hawks Nest over the border in NY State. We'll have to make it a point to make a run this time...

EDIT Sorry, my bad... Saturday May 7th is the day..

Wayne,NJ is in north Jersey about 30 min west of NYC. We generally meet there because most of us are from north/central & south Jersey as well as a few New York/Brooklyn-ites and Philly guys. From Mt Vernon, you might just want to take 87 east towards Port Jervis and meet us at High Point unless you really want to drive south to Jersey, only to drive back north...

Thanks for the advice on where to meet, much appreciated, and will traverse my way there , but would hope to have a "rally point" where I could link up with you guys on the way there to see the sights, and have some fun, at some point before the state park and "hawks nest" I am definetly going to be there. I've worked hard on my GTI all winter and its time to see what my efforts will have merrited. And Mike from New Jersey with his gentlemen (and I use the term very loosely) as a former CWO from the rangers, I can honestly say, you and your group haved shown me nothing but pure class and integrety, always good to see you and your boys, really wish more of the groups were like yours. Duty calls, have to be going. Laters RK "WInd at your back, sun on your shoulders, ride hard "

Yup, Saturday is May 7th and it will be on Saturday. As far as the bike race, it shouldn't be an issue based on the email I got back from the organizers..

Do you guys close the road down for this? No Rt 23 is open to traffic but we have marshalls directing traffic.

How long does it last?Riders take anywhere from 20-30 minutes but the event last about 2 hrs

Where exactly does the event end? It ends at the entrance to the monument parking lot

    I don't think Ronnie discriminates.

Last fall there was an A4, B4 Passat and an old Mercedes. Rumor has it a 911 will pop its High Point Cherry this year.

All I ask is a bit of discretion in the park. Start leaving tire marks and it's my ass cause it's my name on the permit. cause a problem and you WILL be dealt with accordingly..
as for discriminating, no I do not.. I dislike everyone equally... Particularly RL331...
