As bad if not worse than New York Paper do about the Mets or Yankees.... Just think. Boston only has 1 team to beat up when they are stinking up the joint. New York has 2.

How the hell can Bronson go to the pen..He has been flat out nasty...He is know something like 15 and 0 or the sox are in his last 15 starts![]()
I say go to a 6 man rotation j/k, I don't care how good Bronson could be in the pen...That breaking stuff he has is as filthy as anything else out there...And when he hits 90 to 92 with the fastball lookout...

Wasn't that the talk when Wade Millar was coming back?
But now with the two old guys DL'd, I don't see Arroyo going to the pen anytime soon.
Hell, Arroyo could be the #1 starter pretty soon

Don't believe that, the way Arroyo is throwing... he will NOT be going to the pen. no way. That was the original plan.

Oh thats not official, but Arroyo has been tabbed unofficially to be odd man out if all starters were healthy....Tito went as far to say Bronson would be a great longer reliever/ setup man....a real bridge guy...Mendoza in his primeWHO knows but he's looking good

There is no way Arroyo will be sent to the pen. Not with him pitching this way. With Miller, Arroyo, Wakefield & Clement as the starters they can take their time in getting Schilling back to 100% and Wells can eat some more cheeseburgers for all I care.
#120
You win 15 games in a row, you don't belong in the pen.![]()

When everyone is healthy it will be a nice dilemma to have. 6 quality starters.... I like it.

He was maybe 50% and he pitched a couple of great games in the post season last year. As long as they can take their time with him and not rush him back he should be pretty darn good.

The hell is Francona thinking bringing in rookie Cla Meredith to blow the lead when he had a bullpen full of fresh pitching![]()
Wade Miller though

Wade Miller = Nasty...Sure it was 5 innings....But he had serious hop on his fastball and that hook is as good as it gets....Our if seems to be looking pretty good....Next start will be key....What was Houston thinking other than freeing up $$$ for Beltranoops
Give up on a front line starter
One mans trash is another man's treasure

Props to Gonzalez too .... 2 quality starts. Thanks!

I'm probably in the minority here, but I didnt really mind the move to the rookie.
Yeah, making your major league debut in the rain, w/ the game tied, facing the 3-4-5 hitters is extreme, but I fear that Embree, Timlin and Mantei will be over used this year.
Sox fans have got to be satisfied with how they have been playing with the two top pitchers out.

I didn't mind it too much either. The kid only needed to get an out. He went 3-2 on both hitters before walking them. The Home Run that Sexson hit wasn't a bad pitch. Sometimes you gotta just tip your hat to the hitter.

I think your damned if you do damned if you don't. If you pull him after the walks he will still feel like crap. Sexon does have a lot of power but what is his average 220?? I think pulling him out makes the kid feel like crap anyway so might as well leave him in so he has atleast a chance to feel good about himself.
Forget about the kid for a second though. What the hell was up with Villone [relief pitcher for M's]. Was that roid rage or what

He could'n t find the zone it's nice to see we got a kid with a live arm to help the pen out....That Dong was cheap it was an out on a non gale force windy day....How about Miller breaking Ichiro's bathello

Boston's Bats finally woke up last night. Even without Manny. That Haren kid needs to learn some control. He's all over the place. Great stuff but he needs to harness it.
#134
That pitch that hit Manny was weird. It looked like if he didn't move it would have hit him in his hip, but instead he ducked and it hit him in his head. Is he ok??
#135
Well with Manny any shot to the head it debatable if you can tell the difference from pre to post HBP...Millar homers off a Major League Yabu....now 121 Ab till another....![]()

But when you see a ball that looks like its coming at your head, your first reaction is to duck. Manny didn't have the time to identify the pitch and realize that its going to break away.Manny has been having sheiet luck this year.

Got Meredith in there again last night, less of a pressure situation but he still looked very shaky. Sox must think he's something special, I can't remember the last time they had someone this young pitching for them..Kid is 21 and was only drafted a year ago...Huston Street is the only other kid from that draft in the majors...I don't know about him now but we'll see how he comes along...and I couldn't beleive Francona put him in on Sunday in a tie with a runner on second in the rain against Beltre and Sexson.

Sinker ball pitcher live arm gave up something like 0 earned runs in 43 minor league appearences or some such thing...You don't stick him in tough spots, however if he did well his confidence might have been awesome.....Tough delivery and when he settles down he might be nasty...He was amped last night again...Better than Blain Neal

Is he ok?? Ha!! Reminds me of high school. I nailed a friend of mine from another school right in the side of the head. I threw a fastball right at his hands on a 1-2 count, he backed off the plate but also bent a little at the waist. Smartly at the last second he turned his face away and got it on the ear-hole.

Oh yea, I'm sure when he has a solid outing with the club that will do wonders for him...his numbers were very impressive in the minors, your right about that.
