Thread: Firefly Fans.......Behold SERENITY

  1. 08-19-2007 12:24 PM #141
They're showing reruns on Universal HD. Saturdays at 9pm ET. I missed the first run and have been watching them online.

  2. 08-19-2007 10:50 PM #142
I saw Serenity on UHD a couple of months ago, loved it. Bought the box set after that. There still seems to be some interest, maybe hope for more?

  3. 08-20-2007 09:46 AM #143
There's a Special Edition of Serenity coming out on DVD tomorrow I think.

I might have to look into picking it up. I never watched Firefly, but I did see Serenity a few months back and really liked it.

You should see her in the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I just looked at her IMDB profile and saw she was in that and several other TV shows. I'll have to try to watch them, I just don't watch TV normally.

If you stop by the store, do yourself a favor and pick up the Firefly box-set. It's great to watch the episodes back to back, but then you realize once you've hit the end that you won't be seeing any more.

    I'll look into that.

I really gotta get the Arrested Development DVD sets too.

I don't plan on stealing one -- though I'd have to FIND ONE first.

I know, I am usually late to all new films and TV series, but this is ridiculous...

I finally started watching "Firefly" last night and I can't believe I've waited for so long! Love it, love it, love it!

As soon as I finish watching all 14 episodes, I'll go and get the "Serenity".

Taking on them mountains. One hill at a time.

    Haha...I'm also a late comer.

I was browsing around hulu.com and I got hooked. If Fox could cancel a show like Firefly then I'm really worried about the Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

And yes, you have to watch Serenity once you finish watching the series.

I hope there's another Serenity movie

    Me too.

Picked up the Collectors Edition of Serenity a few weeks ago. Now I really want to see the story continue on.

I hate that I really got into that show. My friend let me borrow the dvd box set last year and I got hooked instantly. The show was so damn good how they hell did that get canceled and other crappy shows on FOX live on?

Welcome to Fox, where we kill all the good shows early, make you suffer through crappy ones forever, and alter news facts to suit our best interests...

I agree, I'm almost mad at myself for seeing this to begin with, because it was so good and there is no more.

There's a group who gets Serenity and shows it in movie theaters, all proceeds going to some charity organization. I went when they showed it here a few months back. The film was mildly out of focus and the audio was subprime (it's a rather crappy theater) but hey, it was still Serenity on the big screen! So keep an eye out for them. I can't remember the name of the group offhand but if I can find it I'll post again.

Amen! I have lost count of how many shows FOX has done this with now. I almost hate to watch shows they make for this very reason.

I ask myself that all the time. Fox has a few pretty good shows, but they are definitely in the habit of canceling their best shows more often then not.

Firefly had a narrative arc, but Fox insisted on airing episodes out of sequence since they wanted to broadcast the best episodes first to hook the audience.

That strategy usually fails since it loses the audience. Fox sux.

They did the same with Keen Eddie, with the same results.

Keen Eddie was an awsome show. I also liked The Loop.

The Fire Fly series was truly awsome. When serenity came to the threaters many people were lost due to the fact that they didn't watch the show. But. There is a pretty big following of the show still to this day.

It's a TV show filmed in 16:9 (or 1.77:1). If they make it 2.35:1, they will have to crop the frame. Less is not more.

Most TV shows filmed in HD are filmed at a 1.78:1 aspect ratio (the better to match HDTVs, which are manufactured in that 1.78:1 aspect ratio).

This is the universal reaction to Firefly.

First you love it. Then you get hooked. Then you get pissed. Really, really pissed.

    This is so true.
I still hold out hope against hope that the series will come back.

I need to know what the background is with Shepherd. Was he a govt man, assassin like the guy in Serenity? There were always hints of his past but nothing ever came of it.
