Proving once again, MK4 owners have no taste

I still love it. I would've loved to see it go to another season and really be given a chance to grow. I loved the movie, sorry you didn't feel that way. It was good entertaining work.

Serenity was on HD Theater a couple weekends back, saved on my DVR for later HD salivating.

Lost my DVD so I will keep a lookout for another airing. They have played it before but I never know about it beforehand.

I'm with him. My wife made me watch the whole series and then we rented Serenity over the weekend. I'm not saying it's a bad show, but it just didn't do anything for me (and I'm a big Sci Fi fan).

I tried watching a couple of episodes when it was first on the air, but I felt then the way you describe. I thought it was "okay", but kind of corny. I always thought that Buffy was corny as hell too (still do), so I expected as much from this show. To me it came off as a hamfisted mash-up of a western and a space opera.

It wasn't until Hulu that I went back to catch the series again, and I must say, I've done a total 180. Bittersweet since the show is already dead and gone. I watched the whole season over a long weekend and finally "got" why some people love it so much. Once I saw the show from the pilot, forward, the whole western bit made total sense and I realized that it was clever as hell.

Same thing with the dialog. I can understand why most people would roll their eyes at an exchange like:

    "How ya' feelin'?"

    "Oh, I'm shiny!"

Just sounds stupid at first. Until you understand the reference and what Whedon was doing with the Chinese influence. It's a shame. He created a very deep fictional universe that could have been mined for great stories for a lot of years before getting old and stale.

I'm so love/hate with Fox Network. They do this crap all the time. They introduce innovative and cutting edge shows, which they then fail to market market and schedule properly.

OTOH, they introduce innovative and cutting edge shows. Stuff that CBS, NBC or ABC wouldn't even consider unless they could add the letters "CSI" in front of it.

Do keep in mind that when Fox first broadcast the show, they aired them out of order, confusing viewers and effectively killing the show.

Yea, that's actually what I referring to when I said that I finally saw the series from the pilot, forward. Sorry, I wasn't too clear.

It's Fox. They come out with some of the best pieces of television ever (Keen Eddie, Terminator:SCC, Firefly, Breaking In, Human Target) and then kill them off. It's like some sick game with them. If a new show doesn't see American Crap Idol type numbers right away, they kill it. They fail to understand that a low-brow, vapid piece of crap like AI will appeal to a larger mass of people than a show that requires intelligence and paying attention.

Instead, we're fed new Simpsons and Family Guy long after they stopped being funny, the entirely unfunny American Dad and Cleveland Show, and Bob's Frakkin Burgers

While I do blame Fox for shortsightedness, I also blame the viewing public for having such god-awful taste in shows.

Part of the way that Fox kills a show is by moving it all over the schedule so no one knows when it will be on. Then they claim low ratings.

A favorite scene on Castle is when Fillion where's his old "Mal" costume for Halloween.

    "What are you?"
    "A space cowboy."
"Didn't you wear that 5 years ago?"
    "I love this costume!"
    "Dad, let it go..."

    No, that's Jaynesville.

And since the daughter is a redhead, I was really hoping Chritiina Hendricks would be the recurring character of the actress ex-wife on Castle...

Over the past week I watched all 14 episodes (in the correct order), and then the movie. I had only seen parts of a couple episodes years ago, but didn't know what was going on at the time, so this was like watching it all new again anyways. I really enjoyed the show, really bummed me out after I watched it all since I know it won't be coming back. That seems to be a theme with most of the shows that I like.. They just start to get going and then it gets axed right in the middle

ditto (except this week). great show. of course it's too complicated compared to "bleeping out the kardashians" so they axed it
