Reno, what mods did you buy? Is this the official first step to a full addiction?

Well, I have been trying to put together a nice stereo system for the GTI even before I bought it. I ordered the Polo/mk5 rear wiper and I ordered the TT short shift linkage from ECS Tuning. A little performance and a little show.

Oh, I have been addicted to modding even before the GTI.

Speaking of modding and all that wonderful Jazz: Hey Wes are you running a weighted shift linkage on your GTI? If not go pick up the weighted shift linkage off any mk3. They are very nice and only cost $18 new from the stealership. You could probably pick one of from a junkyard for $5. Takes about 5 to 10 minutes to install (depending on how careful and how many breaks you take)

Pick up the OEM Aero wipers for the front as well- a gigantic aesthetic improvement as well as an improvement in performance.

Not running any short shift kit. Heard they increase grinding, especially 2nd gear. I guess if it is that cheap though, i can try it.

plan on picking them up eventually. Need to replace the blades on Lori's passat first. Of course, those came with the aero wipers from the factory. Lucky!

I have never heard of any problems of using a short shift with a mk2. But, I do know that using the weighted shift linkage from the mk3 made shifting like butter on my old mk2 Jetta. After having that a while I put the original back in for a few minutes and wondered how I ever did without.

Go Wes!!!! Woot, woot. Wait a sec. She does understand your obsession with dubs, right? I don't want you to have another chick to complain that you spend too much time with car and car friends/vortex versus her.

Well, I went and picked up my toys from the UPS office last night. I installed the rear wiper a few minutes ago. What a quick and easy upgrade!!! Reno likey!!! I will install the short shift kit once my engine cools down and after it cools down outside and while there is still some daylight. I am excited now. I want to go out and drive around.

    She's a damn hottie, Wes!

Lori's wipers need new blades? Don't pay the dealership $30+ for each side- I can do them for under $10 for both. We could do that on Saturday evening if you/ she want to- it's not too tough.

I'll have to keep the AR show in mind.

Yay I was reading a how-to over at b5 world or whatever it is called. Just get some tripledge from Wally's World and a little snip snip and the wipers are replaced with better than OEM ones.

How about installing the short shift over at your apt? I am not sure if it will be installed before I get there or not. If not, you interested?

I gots no issues with that.

I'm not sure about the tripledge blades, but I've tried about everything there is. I have found one that I am very, very happy with and recommend it over everything else. Now I just need to find the name of it.

Hey, late notice & all, but if you guys here are lookin' for something to do Friday night. I've got a good friend in one of the bands at Battle of the Bands tonight. I THINK this is the final one, prize is a $10,000 of recording studio time + professional mix. They've put together some of their own studio time, but this may just be the break needed.

The group to cheer for's Lucid Harmonic.
Unless they suck compared to the other guys, then just sing that na-na-na-na song. Kinda punk sounding, a little 'progressive' whatever that means, I'm guessin' pseudo experimental. Fun junk to jam around to. IT'd REALLY help out if anyone else showed up. They judge the contest by dB level of cheers.

K, sorry to spam ya on it, but I want to help'em out; cause they do good shiz.

They've got 3 songs up here so you can pre-listen: http://profile.myspace.com/ind...14082

    You've now confused me.

Cheatin Evlis, Obid Charm, and Lucid Harmonic are the 3 finalists. ...

and the winner (wow, helps to read the events page, gues this issn't the last final) of this week goes up against Cases of June...

AHHH. Kept reading, yep, guess the winner eventually goes up against Fled from the Sun... geez that gets all complimicated.

    ACK

I think Fled from the Sun's show at the Joint is just a regular 'live band' event.
