I'm not planning on leaving my house until this afternoon, so hopefully the roads won't be too icy by then.

Verizon is retarded. They shipped an order to me in Memphis from Memphis on Friday, and I'm not going to get it until tomorrow because they felt the need to ship it with two-day shipping. FedEx won't over-deliver on a specialty service such as two-day shipping, so it's sitting somewhere in Memphis until they feel like delivering it. I could have been to the Verizon DC to pick it up within 15 minutes of leaving my house, but instead they ship it two-day. Either they don't realize customers within the FedEx Ground one-day zone are getting dicked, or they don't give a flying ****.

Whenever I finally get this thing, I'm calling them to ask for some kind of discount on the first month's bill.

... and what will be hilarious some number of weeks from now (if it happens) is the possibility that it may be delayed until Wednesday because of ice.

And FedEx pays some of our bills, but they, too, are retarded for shielding their primary customers so much (Verizon) that it pisses off their secondary customer (me). I attempted to have it held for pickup, but was told they cannot do that until one delivery attempt is made because that's the service level agreement Verizon has on the account.

But I guess the big account talks and the little peon doesn't matter.

I've had Cellular South, Sprint, and AT&T. There's something to complain about with all of them. In the end, you just have to find the phone you can live with and forget who you're paying for the service.

T Mobile was actually pretty good, but I only have experience with them internationally. But I'm a loyal "Cingular" user. After five years, I'm just not ready to call it AT&T. lol

My Treo says Cingular on it, so it's Cingular.

TMo isn't worth a damn where I need it to be. I'd be fine here with it, but since my mom piggy-backs on my plan, I have to also have good coverage on the coast. They have the least coverage of any of the major companies there.

Plus, VZW just became the preferred provider for IP, so maybe my discount will increase.

I still say it sucks and I have successfully convinced all family members and people I talk to all the time to get rid of it and go to Cingular, so now I don't use any minutes.

Not to mention my iPhone rocks my socks off and Cingular is the only one who has it.

Yep, it took two business days to travel within Memphis.

The iPhone is the reason I left Cingular (well, and that VZW has the Storm). I'm not giving $40/mo for a data plan to be able to push Enterprise e-mail to an iPhone, and outside of the iPhone, their phone selection is pretty sorry. Gotta keep the wife happy, too...

Okay, I love ya Brian, but that is ghey.... And since when is the iPhone data plan $40? I don't pay that and I have unlimited use.

There's a $10 premium to be able to push Enterprise e-mail (read: work e-mails) to it.

I rarely have trouble with my phone service, either. Internet is hit or miss, and Dish goes out when the weather is sorry, but I need a new dish, and we're going to work on the internet over Christmas.

where is said $10 premium? I have my work email (read: Exchange) pushed to my phone. In fact most of the time I'll know I have a new work email on my phone a minute before my email program.

  27. 12-16-2008 10:33 AM #18577
Ah, yeah, don't have work e-mail so I don't know about that.

Whelp, I'm off to Starbucks, then moving crap to storage, followed by the gym. Good thing I'm getting a high calorie, high fat drink to start my morning.

It's on their service circular. I had my doubts that it was actually necessary, but I didn't bother asking, because I would be told that it is necessary, anyway. I guess it's like the Sprint phone I had back in the day. You were supposed to pay a premium to use it as a tether for internet access, but I was able to get around that.

Bottom line, even if I had wanted the iPhone over the Storm, Becky wouldn't have been able to find a phone she liked.
