Thread: Official MS Roll Call and Discussion Thread

  1. 01-15-2010 08:57 AM #19601
    OMg thank you.
    It happened they called me.

We talked, there's issues. SERIOUS billing issues. I'm feeling scammed right now but nothing's official.

I see prices on parts changing and labor hours changing.
I have a receipt and they're changing the quotes AND authorizing repairs that I was not contacted about.

I can't believe they authorized $400 in parts w/o my consent. They claim it was needed to make things run/work right. Spark plugs, a ignition coil, a crankshaft position sensor, I dunno what else, he was vague.

    ...

They NEVER let me down those guys.

How can anyone put up with this

WHY should ANYONE put up with this?

It's amazing. They still have an opportunity to make things right, but well you can imagine what I think about the chances of that happening.

    ....

    yay phrog.

Sounds like you need to take your receipt down to the dealership and talk to them in person and have them show you what's needed to replaced and why. I'd be willing to go down there with you if you would like.

You know what's sad? Mk3s in good condition are about the same price as mk4s (GTIs–didn't look at Golfs and Jettas). What's up with that? And on another side note R32 prices still haven't dropped since I looked at that one on the coast about this time last year; actually R32 prices are a little up from last year. Not that I'm looking...

Is the car in question moddded? I went to Northshore in Covington for the brakelight recall and this happened. When the tech got in it to pull around and saw my boost gauge he got on it and checked the pressure on the way to the garage. I started making my way to the back to check on him. Two of them quickly changed the relay or whatever and then I caught one headed to my REVOed GLi with a diagnostic tool, and it was there for the brakelight recall. I shut him down and told him 'that's it, bring it around front. Brakelight recall and my ecu aren't related.' He had finished the part swap and didn't think I'd have the nerve to bird dog him from the garage door. He had a 'hand in the cookie jar' look when he saw me catch him.

    Ron, any updates on Phrog?

Brake Weight: I wonder why they were wanting to run a diagnostic tool on your GLI after the brakeswitch recall.

My thought was to reflash my flash. VW is funny about things. My brother had a GTI from Walkers on Veterans and they gave him flack when he took it back in because the windows were possessed. They said that his Borla exhaust voided all warranty work. Something about extra vibrations. Like a MK4 doesn't have strange vibrations that come and go.

He did reply to your post, though, and not someone else's, so maybe he intends to pack them to ship them to you?

I noticed that. Hopefully so. I just don't like the limited communication when sending out that kinda change, even if it is a good deal.

    :: raises hand ::

    What all is going on?

well then again, the rssux does have a dead battery and I have to use a jumper box to get the car started. Discovered the dead battery yesterday morning. I'm hoping my old battery from the GTI is well enough to just drop in its place.

    Surprise buttsecks, Memphis!

Up to 8" of snow today. Complete blindside. It wasn't expected at all. What's absolutely hilarious to me is that the alarmists didn't have ample time to collect their ingredients for cold milk sandwiches. Boo ya!

This post is dedicated to ESP, which kept me from being too much of a jackass.
