May I be the first to find fault in that list? There is not one car powered by a 1.8T.

No matter their price, this list of the 10 fastest ranks 2005 model year production cars. That is, models that were mass produced from standardized designs, though their production runs tend to be small.

Wow guys. Did anybody besides me take the time to click the link?

they must have capped it at the fastest per manufacturer because i'm pretty sure the sl55AMG is up there, probably faster than the Porsche but i'm too lazy to look it up.

I did too! For all the lazy people, these are 2005 models, and they used 0-60 as their metric. This is why the Evo is there.

We picked zero-to-60-mph acceleration speed because it’s a common measure of a car’s performance and because it's legal.

SL65, E55, STI come to mind

I totally misinterpreted the title to this thread. I took it to mean the 10 ten cars that roll off the showroom floor the fastest (i.e., the 10 ten cars that spend the least amount of time on the showroom floor, or that sell so quickly they is very little inventory time.)

I wonder what that list would look like.

I believe that was recently posted. I remember the Prius being #1.

EDIT: in fact, here it is:

sl65 does it in 4.4, e55 in 5.0 and sti in 4.8. the slowest car on this list is the vette at 4.4. i guess the sl65 could have tied for 10th though.

again, for everyone else. click the link. it's just 0-60 as the basis (because it's "legal" according to the article") and it lists the times for each of the cars.

4.5 from what i could find. fast, but not fast enough. every car on the list does 0-60 in 4.4 seconds or under.

I don't think the bugatti is finished yet. They should have the saleen s7 up there though. ESPECIALLY the new s7 twin turbo. with 150 more hp than before it kills the enzo.

this list was just major manufacturer cars:

"No matter their price, this list of the 10 fastest ranks 2005 model year production cars. That is, models that were mass produced from standardized designs, though their production runs tend to be small".

i guesss the koenigsegg and saleen (and a handful of others like the noble) aren't considered mass produced for purposes of this article.
