Thread: A big THANK-YOU to "need_a_VR6"

  1. 07-19-2005 02:10 AM #1
My water-pump pulley blew apart just leaving the show on Saturday evening. I limped the car back to the grounds and Sunday began the surprisingly difficult task of acquiring a new one.

After inquiring at all the tuners and swap booths I headed for the pits where I found Paul (need_a_VR6) who was running his friends N/A throttle-bodied Golf which just happened to have a water-pump pulley that was not in use(electric water-pumps). He quickly offered it up and removed it for me immediately and would not take a penny for his troubles. This is a classic example of how dubbers are some of the greatest people. Thanks to all who offered help and words of encouragement. I got the pulley on in no time flat with help from my friends at VF and she made the trip home without further incident.

Thanks again Paul for helping me out of a bind. I owe you a couple

    Good stuff.

The dude is cool...gave me info on my SDS when I had problems with it. I also saw em (according to what you said) driving a car with throttle bodies bulging out of the hood. I guess that was him.

Yeah I was running Anthony Dowd's ITB'd all motor Mk3.. so yeah I guess you were talking to me

As far as losing some weight, I'm *really* suprised there was still something to take off that car and have it still work

Anyways Paul is a good guy, always willing to help out, most of the dubbers around here are like that too. Good on Paul.

That thing weighed four ounces! I don't believe YOU didn't take it off already He's got my address so you'll be getting it back when he gets one locally. I would give you the one out of my car, but it's cursed as you know.

I think that the Vw world is one of the best worlds in the universe if you know what i mean.

I had a fellow unknown Vdubber take me to autozone for a bottle of coolant on my way home in maine, then bought me a whopper, fries then went to a gas station and bought be pepsi because i don't drink coke. Then drove me back to my overheated car.

However i did leave 5 bucks in his passenger seat, hope he found it.

well i didnt help him do anything...lol... watched him push the car, tie it down, do this, do that...and yet Paul still feed me a burger and let me drink mad amounts of beer in the trailer ... in my eyes... def. a good guy ... good idea on the weight thing tho .. lol

It wasn't my beer, my burger or my trailer, so it was no problem

That was the talk of the pits Anthony. Why was there a useless part weighing the car down?

You owe Paul one for that I think.
