Thread: MKIV Rear Brace/Upper Strut Bar

    1. 07-22-2005 07:08 PM #1

We are offering our rear upper tie bar/brace at a special price for a limited time.

It attaches at the rear seat belt anchors, and requires no drilling. It fits both Golfs and Jettas and does not interfere with the headrests on either. It can be installed using the factory bolts with the shoulder and be mounted properly. We are now also including new bolts with the bars, though they are not required for the install. It takes about 15 mins. In the golf it helps eliminates most of the squeaks that occur in higher milage cars.
The bar is aluminium with a machined grey finish and cast steel bracket ends.
$49 + $8 fixed shipping to the lower 48. $13 to ship to Canada
Please post, IM, Email, or call with questions or to place an order.

ok, another question lol, does it interfere with headrests or, a better question...
Does it cause a rear passenger to complain more than usual?

Well it def makes more of a difference on a Golf than a Jetta.
The jetta has a fixed rear window, not to mention the metal parcel shelf. Where as the Golf bascially has a gaping hole the back of the car Is the difference night and day? No. Is it noticable? Yes

Depends on what tools you carry with you
Really though you could quickly remove the bar where it bolts to the brackets with an allen wrench in a few minutes, were you so inclined

im seriously interested in this product, so i'm looking for additional honesty in this question:
do all 3 rear headrests retain full articulation with the bar in place? this picture makes it look like the headrests have to be rotated forward for the bar to fit.

exactly what i was thinking--it appears to block it.

No, it does not block them in any way.
That pic is of my car, and I simply don't like 3 headrests or the others unless they are all the way down and forward.
