On my Younger Brother's Golf, we've been:

Dual Outlet Exhaust Manifold, Dual Downpipe, TT 2.25" exhaust
    Getting the intake polished
Have a 270 Cam to go in
    Lightweight lifters
AMS Chip is on the way (though UPS ****ed up, and switched his shipment w/ a VCR...)

BUT, we had to take a Hiatus to have my CRX's Crankshaft pulley kick our ass...

I tried to find the cheapest place for parts for my swap.

    I looked at germanautoparts.com, bmaparts.com, autotechparts.com.

Looks like I'm ordering my waterpump from german auto parts.

I repaired a tire and my monza exhaust came in the mail today.Im kinda dissapointed in the quality of this product came a little chiped up, paint on resonator looks as if it was placed in the bag while still tacky. The welds do not look profetional.Other than that looks good cant tell whats on the inside.i cant wait to hear how it sounds.......sorry i had to vent to someone about the way i feel about it

Sorry to hear that. I've heard good things about Monza.

I mocked up my phonedials since my adapters just arrived yesterday (BIG to MotorsportTech ) Re-hung my exhaust since the rubber hangers on the muffler snapped. And contemplated whether or not I really want to sell the damn car and start over with the ratcoupe

I just received a brand spanking new 11" brake conversion for it.

  11. 08-02-2005 11:48 PM #46
Just looked at it, sitting all sad and lonely on the side of my house. It's awaiting completion of it's VR swap. (1 1/2 years and running), gotta get the wiring sorted. (I got a 16 month old boy and an 8 month along pregnant wife, so I don't have much time these days)

Damn, I want to get it finished.

  12. 08-02-2005 11:52 PM #47
Fixed my damn cat. converter which fell off the other day and did a DIY smoked tail light job.

    Last minute:
I buyed 4 BBS RA wheels, they appear to be from a Helios Jetta and it was a very nice deal. The question is: should I repaint them? they are in excellent shape, but I don't have an Helios...

Golf:Washed, waxed and buffed it. Added a qt. of oil and checked to make sure all zipties are secure

Jetta: Fixed the rear wheel cyl., replaced an overly due axle. Fixed my starter

GTI: Test fitted the motor, stripped the motor down. Had my fabricator redo the combustion bowls, installed the Spec stage 3 kit, Sand blasted the enginebay, installed the new tie rods, balljoints and new rack, bead blasted my 11" G60 calipers in prep for caliper paint, sand blasted my MK4 rear calipers, re routed my guages, did some wire hiding magic , Disassembled my turbo in prep for ceramic coating and some polishing

VR6: on engine stand: stripped, hot tanked, reamed....basicly rebuilding from the ground up, bead blasted the enitire rack in prep for powdercoat, labeled VR6 harness, stripped and cleaned rear beam. This will be my winter project soon as i find a MK1 to drop it in

Disclaimer: I forgot a few things as its late and im pooped

Tomorrow is body work day. hint butter smooth enginebay on the GTI

I sprayed some Simple Green on my tranny that is laying on the garage floor. Then I walked away.

I replaced by old bumper...kind of. I guess two out of six bolts are good enough. Why can't a new bumper just fit? It would make it too easy I guess.

I just looked at my GTI today. I'm waiting until this weekend, I'm picking up a new exhaust (it currently has none). I'm also going to fix the rear hatch lock, passenger door handle, and driver side window regulator. Then my friends I will be driving the hell out of it! A2's rule!

Glad you enjoyed it. I think I'm now in three sigs... how many does it take to be given higher vortex status?
