got a favor to ask of anyone...if its not possible its not the end of the world so dont worry

I was wanting to know if anyone would be willing to come to dublin to pick me up friday. I really wanna go up to deal gap and since im not driving i could video tape the whole trip and anything interesting along the way. If anyone can do it I'll pay for the gas to come get me and get back...sunday will be another issue but ill prolly be able to work sumthing out. If no one can like i said its not big deal..just figured id ask since my tools STILL have not come in so this weekends lookin to be another boring one of my staring at my car on jack stands...

I would say we could pick you up on the way, but you're pretty far out of the way...and not in the right direction.

haha ya i know...thats why im trying to strut me stuff to find a ride...

worse comes to worse ill just work on the car and get it done soon so i can ride up to augusta for the first time next weekend...if the cars done i really will be coming...no excuses this time

thats cool.. I remeber seeing them meet years ago when i was a kid.. the parking lot would be full of mainly old VWs. We should go this fri. They have good food there too.

I did snag a couple of Command Course CPTs at Mercedes Benz: Jose Huertas and a friend. Jose was buying a E-class. Man, CPTs make WAY better than I did back in the 90s!

We seem to have a big brew going at Barber Motorsports. Wish I could make The Dragon w/ you guys, but I committed as a volunteer (I know, I know). Gets me dinner, and hot laps, and entry to the museum and events.

I have the route mapped out in Streets & Trips and I have GPS in my car. It's about 246 miles to Deal's Gap. It's about 110 miles around the horn, so to speak, for those who want to drive the Cherohala Parkway (I know I do). On http://www.tailofthedragon.com, they said expect 3-4 hours to drive the 110 mile loop.

We can go over the map before we leave and make any adjustments at that time. I also have a radar detector in my car. Expect the po-po to be out once we get up there.

Are we still gunna take the "scenic" 28 up there? It really don't matter to me. Also...did anyone mapquest the hotel we're staying at?

And my vote is for 8 am on saturday.

Yeah, we can hit that highway. I will be there well before 8 on Saturday and I don't plan on waiting forever for people to show up...

Before we leave, we can all provide input as to which route to drive there. It can be easily modified on the computer and will provide an easy way to keep us on track. The GPS along with Streets & Trips will let me make a "bread crumb trail" so we can trace our path.

HWY 28 is right by Deal's Gap and is a good alternate to the S&T "suggested route".
