I know it's early. But the rest of the NFC North looks so bad @ week 2 that I can't help but smile. I was hoping week one was just a new offense against a great defense. Looks like I was right.

Orton scared me the first game, looked decent enough against the Lions. Being against the Lions is the only reason why I'm still not super impressed.

Thomas Jones ran like the Thomas Jones I've been a fan of. Found the holes (thanks o-line) and created afterwards.

Muhsin looks to be Orton's favorite target, and who could blame him. The guy is big with great hands, great catch in the endzone yesterday.

The defense is what is going to help this team win anything, as it did yesterday. Mike Brown is back and badder than ever, Urlacher is NOT overrated, Nathan Vasher, pardon the cliche, just has a nose for the ball, and the D line is deep. If the core stays healthy (like Brown and Urlacher and a couple linemen) then this is going to be a great defensive unit for a long long time.

So, let's hear it for the team atop the NFC North!

I don't know what to think after watching the Bears in the last two games. Which team will show up for each game from here on out?

After yesterday:

The Lions seem to suck, but they beat Green Bay last week.
Green Bay looks real weak after losing to Cleveland.
Minnesota isn't even worth talking about so far.

Maybe nobody will win this division this year.

Losing Brown last year killed this team, if that defense stays healthy I like our chances in the weak division.

That is ok GB started out 1-4 last year and pulled off the division.

How many games should Mike Brown be suspended for that hit on Marcus Pollard? I'd say no less than 4. That was an intentional head-to-head hit and the guy was smiling afterward. What a tool.

As long as safey's have no fear of their cheap shots being returned, they will continue to be reckless on the field. Linebackers aren't throwing cheap shots because they know a running back or tight end will lay them out, when given the opportunity, for retaliation. Gotta hit them where it hurts - the pocketbook and gametime.

All I'm asking for is one playoff win this year. After 20+ years as a Bears fan I know what to expect but when the Bears have focused this year they've looked really good .

OK, so the first one wasn't really his fault, but 4 is still pretty bad. A couple misplays by the CBs turned into TDs, the score wasn't that bad considering the 6 turnovers. Ah well, at least they have plenty to reflect on going into the bye week.

No joke. It really could have been much worse with all of the TOs. Who would have thought that Cincy would be a real team. Next thing you know I'll be seeing the Icky Shuffle. . Oh well, Orton has potential, with time I think he'll develop nicely. Muhammed however is my least favorite WR. I lived in Charlotte last year and I've never seen so many people happy to see a man go.

It just seems that he drops a lot of very catchable balls. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the Bears have a decent WR and play maker. He had an amazing year in Carolina last year but it was hinted at by locals and talk radio down there that it was due to it being his contract year. The Bears could have def. done much worse. When Mussin wants to he can be a very reliable reciever, sometimes I think he just loses his focus.
