That's always a good sign. I'm allowed to drive my ex-Beast when I want too. And the ex-owner of the Foz Nuggit is granted drivesies too.

    APPLICATION FOR MORTGAGE DENIED.
Suggestions for rebuilding credit is 2 cards used for a tank of gas paid in full each month and to trade in my truck on another vehicle to extend the credit situation then re-evaluate in 6 months to a year.

    That's lame-o James!!

Don't go f***in' nuts. IDK what a Cummins is on top of the trade in on your Ram...but keep your eyes on the prize and remember you're in it to buy a house.

Ya know, like 8k spread out into 60 payments w/ a nice APR is something stupid cheap.

And that is only if I talk to another specialist that says the same. If I dont need to get into another car payment I wont.

I saw this black VW Passat today driving, crossing back home from Louisville, I'm guessing a 2005. Looked sick, roof rack and all. I have an Audi S4 and just don't know where to begin. haha...

Same goes for most vehicles, not just limited to VAG.

So I talked to the credit guy again today and he said he was suggesting the new vehicle but I can get any term loan where I have a set monthly payment.

So list of those for me is a personal loan to buy bedliner tool box and tonneau cover for the truck, a trailer to haul all my non operable vws around, or personal loan and take a trip out to california to see my good friends.

James something doesn't seem right, your Mortgage Loan Officer should have steps/goals for you to obtain your mortgage loan but you have a job that you have had for ever and have your auto loan that you've been paying, you should have NO PROBLEMS AT ALL getting a loan, I would think about getting a 2nd opinion

My guess is that Hillbilly doesn't have ENOUGH credit accounts to make a solid history. And a car note is somewhat of a "good" debt. He's being advised to not just open a bunch of cc's because every inquiry to your credit history bumps down your score (which I don't get...what if you are just a careful monitorer of it). CC's are also "bad debt".

I like your idea James...if it gets you out to see the Kikk's!!

They told my wife, and I the same thing. We don't have bad credit, just not enough credit in general.

They said the SECURED credit cards are another great way to build it up. Pay for small things with it everyday, and pay it off monthly.

Job is the only good thing I have going right now.

Have already gotten a second opinion.

Truck is almost paid off which is why it does me no good in this matter, it will be a closed account soon.

You sir have hit the nail on the head there. I dont have enough good credit history. During the recession my cards were maxed so when i got my tax return I paid off all of my unecessary debt and closed the accounts like an idiot. Should have kept them open and been responsible and put like half a tank of gas on them and paid them off when the bill came every month.

Just make sure you keep your balance on the card under 30% of the total credit line, even if you do pay it off at the end of the month it will look better on your credit reports.

And you purchased your home long before the recession hit.

Basically when the recession hit and people started losing their houses left and right the banks and mortgage companies tightened up the criteria that bases whether one can get a loan on a house or not.

And as of right now I fall just outside of that criteria. I am a few points shy of whats needed and I dont have the minimum of 3 active credit accounts that are needed. So what is laid out for me is either 2 cards and another payment of sorts, (Leaning toward trailer) or a personal loan auto loan one card type deal. And basically not miss or be later than my grace period on any of the above.

I have chosen to go with 2 credit cards and keep the balance to 50 on each and pay them off when my monthly statement comes in. Then I still cant decide on what to do but I find myself leaning toward a car trailer cause I can real the payment in to under 100 dollars most likely. Plus there is that added bonus of not needing to rent a uhaul every time we need to go get a car or anything else that will fit on a trailer for that matter.

If the truck is not paid off at the end of this month it will be 1 to 2 weeks into next month. And after that I will be looking into other storage places to move to as in one with more room to make room for projects and such until I can finally buy me a garage with a house attached to it.
