    Thread: B6 to B7 conversion ?????

    1. 11-14-2005 04:00 PM #1
Has anybody noticed some german company offering a conversion kit
      for a A4 B6 to B7
and has anybody actually figured out how real this can be ?
i mean cmon you just dont convert a look with some parts
the one i saw on ebay from them actually included the complete rear
bumper , trunk lid , taillights
light alone make it hard from what i know since you just dont fit that kind of shape in a B6

anybody know more about this ?

u do know that the b7 is built off the b6 platform and has MANY same features (i.e. interior)... its more of a b6.5 really

MTM has done it on their B6 S4.... got into an accident and converted it to the B7 body.

The only piece of sheet metal that is the same between the B6 and B7 is the roof, everything else underneath structurally is the same (with a few changes in the suspension of course).

so basicly you can actually change any A4/S4 B6 to a B7 ?
so lets say you would do this i assume you just get yourself the parts needed
for example rear fenders , trunk lid , lights , bumper
      and put those on
but if i am not mistaking doing something like this would mean you need to cut a part of the original fenders no ?

any chance there was a project posted somewhere from the MTM conversion ?

      THanks

and yes for the rear there would be body work
front is easier as everything can come off

So that must also mean that you can change a B7 into a B6.

      yup most likely
but the only question is do you want to put the time and money in it ?

i know back when i had my jetta i put a widebodykit on it
and had to cut the rear fenders also
something i wouldnt like to do again
even tho i like the B7 rear end more then the B6
but i dont feel like buying a B7 already
rather wait for the B8 or maybe the A4 Coupe(cant remember the name)
