never built a vw before so i have some questions before a potential purchase that you or maybe someone on here can clear up.

I have a 98 GLX bone stock looking to upgrade the cylinder head....

1)can i upgrade the head with leaving the block/exhaust alone?
2)is it time to do the timing chains at the same time? is it recommended?
3)if i buy cams do i need springs and retainers as well? what about an ecu chip or intake?

Autotech 262 are new chill cast billets. All cams are new billets unless there is a core charge.

Looking to get just a Mk4 headgasket and exhaust gaskets for a 1997 glx vr6 already replaced the timing chains and valve cover gasket and intake mani gaskets but then my headgasket blew kinda sucks. Anyways wondering on what your pricing would be for a set of (headbolts the crackpipe and t stat housing plus those gaskets the o rings mk4 headgasket exhaust gaskets and the lower intake manifold gasket.)

On another note for the autoteck 262 cams would i need to upgrade my springs also for these or would stock springs be fine? just wondering what kind of price you would be looking to get for all of this.

im a noob to vr6 tuning and i am currious what the different cams offered do in comparison to each other e.g. whats the diff btwn a 262 and 268 cam or a 256 regrind? i know performance is gained but how do you choose?

I don't have any specific data regarding the HP/TQ differences between all the different cams we offer.

Choose a cam based on your motor build, normally aspirated or forced induction.
262º and 268º are the most popular we sell for daily driven and normally aspirated.

Keep in mind the VR6 12v cams were designed for the Mk3 12v, thou some people use them on a Mk4. If you have a Mk4 then look for a cam designed for it specifically.

Stock bore is 82.5mm, 1st over bore would be 82.75 but I'm not finding any "stock" pistons in that size but rings are available.

We do have 83mm from Wossner.
