If I buy a game for my sisters ipod touch, can I remove it from hers and transfer it to mine down the road?

I ask because I don't have an ipod touch but I want sf4 for ipod. I figured i could buy it for hers, play it, then when I get one transfer it to mine.

I'm 100% sure it can be done via other methods if itunes doesn't allow it

I have a 2G itouch and was wondering if there was a way to connect it to my laptop, play a game on it and have the sound output through the dock (usb) connector and play on my laptop, which in turn is connected to my home theater.

as to why: one less wire.

If you buy it under her iTunes account, it is going to be tied to any devices that are using that account, which can be up to 5. There is no way to transfer purchases between accounts that I am aware of.

I resurected the old 4th Gen Greyscale (AGAIN).

Actually just bought a refurbished 20gb from ecost.com & made it bigger & better with some parts I had left from the old 40GB. Now with 60GB HDD & RockBox to play real mp3 files. And 1200mAh battery for 12 hour play time.

No more Itunes & I can take the mp3 off the ipod & transfer to another PC if I wish.

i just got an iphone and i cant seem to transfer the music files from my itunes...when i plug the phone into my computer w/ itunes open, it says its syncing but then no music transfers to the phone. i just installed updates for itunes..? i guess im technologically inept. please help

Highlight your iPhone on the left, under devices. In the large pane on the right, select the music tab. It should be self-explanatory from there.

ok guys, i've recently purchased on iPod video 30gb off of a friend, its got alot of music on it (20+GB) i'd like to keep all of this stuff but the iPod is formatted for a mac! i understand i've got to reset the ipod to allow it to communicate with my computer, but is there anyway of keeping the music in the process of doing so?

I've been trying to figure this POS out and I'm ready to throw it out of the window.

Go to your library. Hold down the CTRL button your keyboard, then click the songs in the library. It should highlight every song you clicked. Then click and drag them to his ipod under devices.

An easier way, especially if you are sharing this library with other users, is to create a playlist for him, and add all the songs he wants to this playlist. Then tell the iPod to only sync that playlist.

My new ipod touch 4g when connected to 2011 GTI (MDI with NAV) will not list ARTISTS, it lists every thing else like albums, songs, etc, but when I choose artists, it says loading files, then breifly switches to another source, CD in this case, then it comes back to playing a song from MDI, but it simply won't go to the artists menu.

It works fine and with the same amount of music on an Ipod Classic.

Any help would be apprecited, I have tried changing all sorts of settings on the ipod touch to no avail.

They usually come with a proprietary cable that plugs into the bottom of the iPod and then over into the computer's USB port.

Is there a fix for this yet, I can't get a straight answer online, some posts go back to 2005. So not much help there.

I am using Windows 7 if that helps.

Anyone else having this problem on here? I just want to fix the issue as a lot of my playlists are affected on how often I listen to songs.

Having used iTunes since PC version 1.0, and having maintained my metadata consistently from the beginning, I can tell you for certain that playcounts and last played date are not transferred reliably between devices and computer, especially if you have more than one device and even more so now if you use iTunes Match to listen on multiple computers. It's 50-50 whether it will work, maybe 70-30 at best.

A sticky iPod thread with no replies since February, even with new iPods having launched in Sept or Oct. I think the idea of sticky threads just for certain devices is running its course.
