Maybe, but when 3rd best is 9-12 then I wouldn't be too excited.

As in you think he will be 9-12 next year or he will win 9 to 12 games?
After last years performance there really is no reason to think he would be a sub .500 pitcher.

His career ERA on the road is well over 4. I fully believe for Chacon to reutrn to earth and not have his ERA 2.85.

Well no one should be under .500 with the Yankees offense scoring 8 runs a game.... Even those stiffs

Having to pitch in Colorado half your games will/can hurt you on the road as well. You just have to pitch differently home and away it can screw you up. His ERA in Yankee stadium was under 2.70.
His ERA doesn't have to be 2.85 to be better then .500. I don't think he will repeat at 2.85 either.
But with the Yankees last year Moose posted an ERA of 4.5 and still was 13-8 so after Chacons performance last year in Colorado, then with the Yankees and a good showing in the postseason, I still see no reason wht he can't do equal to or better then what Moose did in 05.
Maybe what you won't see is Chacon returning to earth, but what you are seeing is the way he could have been outside one of the biggest hitter friendly parks in baseball.

Dotel is still coming back from Tommy John surgery...he's best case recovery scenario is the All Star break from what Ive heard.
As for Tino...Ive heard he's retiring. I'd be happy if he came back as a 1B backup.

Tino said if the Yanks don't resign him he would retire.
As of now the Yankees are going with Andy Phillips and Giambi and first.

He'll have a lot to prove when he gets back.
I still have a vivid memory of him warming in the pen while Kenny Rogers was looking into the dugout hoping Valentine would come save him. Valentine didn't, Rogers walked in the winning run and the Mets lost the LCS to the Braves. '99 I believe.

Also nobody can say the Yanks will be undercoached this year. What do they have 3 or 4 head coaches?

Hahaha...they should rotate, or have a Chinese fire drill during the 7th inning stretch.
      Ok...the deal is set.

I think the most improved team this offseason is the Jays.

Hey guys, Yanks fan here. This will be my first year with season tics and hoping that all will be good . I was really disappointed with Pavano last season, and I really wanted him in the rotation I just hope he lives up to my expectations this season. And I think RJ will do alot better during his 2nd season in pinstripes. I loved seeing Tino back and I hope he'll play some roll for one more year, but prolly not likely if Giambi stays healthy*crosses fingers*
BUT, I'm really disappointed with the signing of Damon, yea he's a great lead off guy, but his defense sucks, and I don't feel he the best long-term replacement to Bernie.
But the lineup will be unbelievable this year, I cant wait!!!

Yea I know they did'nt pick up his option, but I still would like to see him on the team for one more season. I'm just having a hard time letting go of the old team.

I hear ya, but he won't be back. They will use Giambi [lefty] and Andy Philips [righty] as their back up.
