Favoring who should be in the rotation or favoring who will be better??

Both will be in the rotation.

Chacon seems to be more comfortable in NY so I think he can be the better of the 2.

I was actually thinking of the rotation. not who will have more wins. I just really disliked what I saw from Pavano last season.

What are you guys going to do if say Chacon gets brought in in relief and gets the win? Or are the terms based solely on starts won?

Pavano had some really good games mixed in with some bad games then he went to hell, how much was him pitching poorly and how much was because of his arm issues??

I'm hoping Pavano gets his act together this year, I was a big supporter of his before last season hoping we would pick him up. I was telling all the Sux fans that I'm surrounded by that the rotation was going to be almost unbeatable, especially when the Unit came in.

Small and Chacon really impressed me too, but I kinda had to eat my words on Pavano.

If he rebounds, that rotation has the potential to be VERY nasty...three young throwers like Chacon, Wang and Pavano...that could turn out very well.

Mo was considering it but I think decided not to.

the only one I'd be worried about is Mo, but the front office wouldn't let that happen. I doubt any of the starters will pitch either.

I think a lot of it has to do with injury, but the thought of technically having 7 starting pitchers (8 with Leiter) is actually really incredible. This year there won't be any mad dash or perpetual worry about somone going on the dl as long as the call up/fill has a qs.

But think about it. RJ is gonna be 42 no way in hell we risk him. Pavano, Wright, and Wang all spent sgnificant time on the DL last year so I don't think they would want to push it too hard too soon. And Moose struggled at the end of the year. That leaves Small and Chacon. Bu don't get me wrong here. I'm not worried about anoyones health really.

The one up side to the whole WBC is that a pitcher's arm could be as strong in April as it would in May. It's the end of the season that is a little bothersome.

Difference being we are telling you what we "think" he can do, we aren't telling you he is a "lock". There is 0 reason to think Chacon can't win 13 plus games in NY but nothing is a "lock".

He won 11 games in Colorado before.

Last year he went 7-3 in NY and pitched a good game in the playoffs.

Yes he went 1-7 in colorado last year, but he had 7 quality starts and 2 games which he went 5 innings and gave up 2. His bullpen or offense wasn't getting him runs. W/l record is the worst stat.

He just pitched great last year whether it was Colorado or NY.

The year he went 1-9 was all out of the pen so obviously he isn't so great in that role.
