You're right, that is just silly. He had a 1.38 ERA. 1.38! That's just disgusting!

I like his WHIP of .87 and that his k/9 was back over 9

Wow, jealousy really does screw you up in the head.

Call it being a fan of the concept of an entire team working together to accomplish their goals. I was ecstatic when the Pistons beat the supposed lock for the championship Laker squad. It has made me giggle that the Yankees spend so much money on their roster, and still can't get it done.

Also, the White Sox will have the best rotation in the AL this year. Pitching is what kills you guys. Does Steinbrenner not believe in middle relievers or what?

It's all about squats and deads.

Not at all......I root for the Mariners, even when they have bad years. (Unlike most people in this area)

I can respect that. However, I think the White Sox will take a step back this year. Nothing solid to back that up, just call it intuition.

If it makes you giggle because the Yanks haven't won in 5 years. Won't kind of emotion do you show when the team you root for has never won?

I don't giggle just becasue they haven't won in five years, I do so becasue they ridiculous amount of money the spend on their batting order and still get beat.

Yes, the Mariners have neevr taken home the trophy, but how long did the Red Sox have to wait? For most teams, the realize that it is difficult to get all the pieces together. Steinbrenner tries to buy as many pieces as he can and smash them all together.

It's all about squats and deads.

How long did Boston have to wait before getting a championship?

    3 years.

So what , the whole point of professional team sports is to collect the best players you can to compete for a championship each season. Don't be bitter just because your the fan of a small market team and post this crap in here. Why don't you start a "Seattle Mariners Whining" thread and post your complaints in there?

Yea and over the course of the years he has smashed himself together what 6 rings? 4 in the last decade with 2 other trips to the series. What a fool

Like you said it's difficult to get the pieces together. So winning as many times as the Yankees have regardless of payroll isn't anything to giggle at.

I got a kick out of this, because in the Sox thread someone said that pretty much everyone in the Sox rotation was more or less a lock for 15 wins. It seems SI thinks the Wanger is a "lock" for 15 as well

    " Chien-Ming Wang, 26, Yankees
The cool right-hander is a strike- and groundball-throwing machine, getting through his average inning as an AL rookie with only 13.7 pitches. Pitching for a team loaded with offense, Wang is a near lock to win 15 games "

In other news Dotel is playing catch in Tampa

Good stuff. That Dotel news is surprising. Have you heard anything on his time line for actual game play?

I never said that they were a lock....But they could very easily win 15 games each..Wang is going to have a scouting report adjustment by the other clubs...

    act ion?

Just that he would probably start the season on the 15 day DL, but who knows.

First game for the Yankees is March 2nd against Philly. ESPN.com has the full schedule.

Some guys have been in camp since the first. Like Jeter. They are allowed to go to camp early because of the WBC.
