Yup. Worst case scenario they have a 1 game playoff started by I think Andy or cc on short rest. Best of 1 sucks

This really has been one of the craziest seasons I can remember. I forget the stat, but Im not sure in the teams history if they've ever been tied or +1 for this long, this late in the season. Its pretty remarkable. I reallly really hope they take care of business and win the east. Texiera will be back in the lineup today... so hopefully he can knock the rust off quickly.

Heres how the final three stack up for the Yanks and the Os...

Yanks VS Sox at Yankee Stadum
    Monday Oct 1 7:05PM: Sabathia (14-6, 3.42) VS Bucholz (11-7, 4.22)
    Tuesday Oct 2 7:05PM: Nova (12-8, 5.02) VS Lester (9-14, 4.94) - This game worries me
    Wednesday Oct 3 7:05PM: Kuroda (15-11, 3.34) VS Matsuzaka (1-6, 7.68)

Os VS Rays at Tropicana Field
    Monday Oct 1 7:05PM: Chen (12-10, 4.11) VS Cobb (10-9, 4.18)
    Tuesday Oct 2 7:05PM: Gonzales (8-4, 3.45) VS Shields (15-9, 3.62)
    Wednesday Oct 3 7:05PM: Tilman (9-2, 2.78) VS Hellickson (9-11, 3.20)

They're gonna need Nova on a really short leash in that game IMHO. The only thing we have going for us is that the Os are in the road and the Rays arent a bad team. ...though, they wont see Price, unfortunately.

This is going to be a pretty crazy couple of days of baseball.

Lets look ahead for a second, and Imagine they either win the 1 game WC or the division.

Do they use a 3 man rotation?

    CC
    Andy
    Kuroda

Hughes is having his 2nd worse month of the year and Nova, well you know whats going on there. So Unless Nova throws a no hitter or something what would you do?

Sox are running out the all scrub line up tonight...They are going for the most losses possible which IMO eyes is the best case senario...Get the highest pick possible

No Pedroia and no Ellsbury tonight... as to the question. From a fan's POV, I run out my three best guys in the first round no doubt. Hughes IS NOT A STUD PITCHER! ...and he's worse in the playoffs. I take my best three and take my chances with short rest, etc. Though, I dont think that's what Girardi will do. I have no doubt that they'll go four man with Hughes in it.

I figured they would do that which works out great for the yanks. We need a sweep

Draft pick talk in baseball makes me giggle.

At any rate this is what they need to do the next 2 days. Crush this pathetic sox team.

If they win out they are at worse the 2 seed so no 1 game WC playoff

Bingo. They control their own destiny. Lets hope they take care of business. Bats woke up in a big way last night. Good to see Tex out there again. His offense (and maybe as important, defense) have been missed. CC pitched well.

Nova tonight... in what is, IMHO, the biggest game he's pitched in his career. Every day is a playoff game.

    Let go Yankees

Nova is getting bumped for Phelps. Nova will be available if needed

    Interesting

...in other Yankee land news. Banuelos is done for 2013 with TJ surgery scheduled this week. Another killer bee bites the dust (well, in the short term at least).

    DAMNED YANKEES!!

Hell of a comeback last night....gotta tip my hat to 'em.

Maybe the Sox will pull a rabbit out of the hat and actually find a way to win tonight...but secretly I think Valentine wants the Yankees to win as a poke in the eye to the O's for spoiling the Sox last year.

The best part is that after going like 7-20 last September what I kept hearing was "it cant get any worse"

I think since september 21 of this year they are 7-21

Yanks NEED Kuroda to be Kuroda and score 4-5 quick

They figured out they didn't need Youk, Gonzales, Crawford, or Beckett to go 7-20 in September. They could use PawSox AAA players instead.

    LMAO!!

Yeah, they kept me up too, and I had to be up extra freakin early today. Im exhausted. As far as Banuelos, I have no idea why that took so long...he's been hurt or a while, I think. Dont know if he tried to rehab and it got worse or what.

Last night was great... but all of the same problems were there. They had what 17 hits??? They couldnt score to save their lives. Tex was AWFUL. I'd like to blame it on him being rusty... I'll cross my fingers. Well, from what I've said above... last night was the most important game to take considering the matchup was so bad. Its good they were able to win that one. Now... like G60 said...Kuroda needs to take care of business tonight... and the Yanks O needs to put the smack down on DiceK. He's got a 7+ ERA... they better hang up a bunch of crooked numbers.

Based on what I heard last night... the Yanks still hadnt broken their streak of losing games in which they were behind after 8 innings. I guess they got that monkey off of their back.

Last game fellas... Lets go Yankees!

Lester hadn't given up 0 earned since April 18th. Hadn't given up less then 3 since august. Yankee 0 scored 3 earned in 13 innings all by a guy off bench.

Part of it. Joe being Joe. Camp is as hot as it gets. So he bats him 5th behind teix who left 9 on base

Last night was fun and frustrating. Being able to predict Arod AB's is not fun. He should have sent that bases loaded ball into the seats......WTF!!!!

Bottom line.....happy they won, but worried about the games ahead.

That means under the new format we get to open ON THE ROAD for 2 games at either Baltimore or Texas

Yeah I saw that last week and instantly did not like it. However if we win 1 out 2 it's a petty big advantage. Can we even play Baltimore the first round?

This year and this year alone you can play a team in your division in the first round.

Also the only year the lower seed will start on the road.

So weird. I like that you can play the WC from your own division. I HATE that they give the road team two games at home to start the series. That sucks.

Another division fellas. Awesome. Jeter is a stone cold killer....ist all business. Guy barely showed any emotion when they found out they had clinched.

I assume joe and organization has until after today's game to lock in their 25.

I am still up in the air on Gardner he can run and proved he can hit but if he has to take the field in a late inning pitch run situation can he throw?

Also I don't see the need for both Nova and Garcia. You guys think they should go with one less pitcher and more bench depth? Tough decions to make.

Nix made the ALDS roster. Jones left off. Girardi is going CC, Andy, Kuroda, Hughes. Buck has named Hammels is game 1 starter with Chen going game 2.

    Hilarious.

I said Gardner " probably" wouldn't be on the roster...to which you said "I know" so you agreed with me.

You also said you would be who shocked if the Yankees didn't make the WS. Then u changed that prediction to they had a good a chance as anyone, now you're back to having them locked into the WS.

Hell 2 posts above your lol post you were up in the air about Gardner...you sure told me
