I think Mo has given up 2 homers in his last 80 innings or something like that.
The Sox slipped into 3rd place in the WC race so that's nice but it would have been nice to go up 3 games.
Just like that Cano bumps his average up to 330. It was like he never left. It sucks that he missed 35 games.
That was a nice relay between he and Abreu to gun down Posednik [sp] at 3rd

I turned to my wife after that play and said that I didnt think Cairo could have made that relay. Dont get me wrong, I cant wait to get Cairo back, because the guy plays hard...I just dont think he would have had the arm to make that play.

Fortunately the RedSox pitching sux and even Ortiz can't save them. If they don't pitch better, they will get shelled by the yanks comes the 5 game series.

Yeah and the Yankees pitching is that much better....Throw out Beckett and Schill and Mussina and Mr. Wang...Johnson is .500 after that it is a free for all...
I love it how the Yankees get a small lead and everyone can run their mouth again....Aside form the few that have been running their mouth all season.....

No-hitter so far.
Edit: Yes! It ended the next batter after my post, I'd like to take credit for ending the no hitter.

That was easy.
Cano made two real nice plays - the basket catch and the final out. He covered a lot of ground to get to Thome's grounder; he must've been playing way over toward first.
Hopefully they are just being extra cautious with Damon, not like he pulled up lame or anything - at least not that I saw.
Do you think we'll see the folowing this year:
Posada - C
Sheffield - 1st
Cano - 2nd
Jeter - SS
A-Rod - 3rd
Matsui - LF
Damon - C
Abreu - RF
Giambi - DH
Not a bad collection of hitters.

I'm happy they won...but the thing about RJ that pisses me off...if he isnt PERFECT, and he makes a mistake...he doesnt recover anymore. Watching the 7th last night was just downright scary.
Abreu...nice to see him take one deep....that was like a 420 foot blast.
Cano...I've said it a million times...he plays hard and he's fun to watch. Jeter better be careful, he might not even end up with the highest batting average on the team let alone the league.
From what I heard this morning, Damon left with a stiff groin. They didnt make it seem like it would be a big deal. Groin injuries are unpredictable though.
This is a big series, I hope Moose shakes off his last start and gets them a W tonight.
<---- to Peter Gammon getting better.
<---- to the Sox losing again to the lowly Royals. 3 games up in the East!

It is not that the Sox pitching sux, it is that they play in the AL and not the NL. The Sox dominated INTR play but are only a few games above .500 against the AL [49-46]
Who would have thought with a 3 game series against KC they would lose ground to the Yankees,WS, and Twins.
Oh well to much baseball left to be played before we crown a champ
Edit to add Pavano pitched 2 2/3 innings the other day for single A.

Yanks were swept by KC last year IIRC. They went on a major tear after that. It aint over til its over.

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.

The Yanks dropped their next 3 series after getting swept by KC last year, let us hope that trend continues for the Sox
It isn't over but when you play Tampa and KC and have a chance to gain some ground and you go 1-5 and lose ground to 3 teams it is not good.
