The last thing we need is to see Robbie turn into Soriano in the playoffs.

I doubt it. Soriano gets homer happy and just starts swinging at everything. Cano is just a great hitter.

Torre's givin a lot of respect to Sheff. I dont know how I feel about that move. Anything that tests Arod's confidence...I'd be careful with....especially considering he's been performing well (relativley) since that epic slump.

Robbie can pick up a curve ball. He wont pull a Soriano.

anyone got tickets to the games?
i tried the registration thing and that didnt work out. tried to get them all day last week during the public sale and that didnt work. i go out for a meeting today and when i get back to my desk, i got an email from my friend saying he found two tickets for game 2 on ticketmaster. i never have any luck getting tickets

pysched for this postseason tho. this is one year where im not completely concerned about the offense. this is one of the best lineups put out by the yankees, they just have to produce. hopefully the pitching will be there too with wang and moose starting the postseason off right

I plan on walking outside the stadium with 3 bills and see what I come up with. That's my limit.

Yep...Arod is 6th. Sheff is hitting clean up.

I'd say...the lineup would look like this...

      1...Damon CF
      2...Jeter SS
      3...Abreu RF
      4...Sheff 1B
      5...Giambi DH
      6...Arod 3B
      7...Matsui LF
      8...Posada C
      9...Cano 2B

That's epic. An All Star at every position. They're gonna see like 250 pitches a game.

So who's smacking the first homer tonight?

I say Damon singles or doubles, Jeter hits one in the first.

It is offical,A-rod will bat 6th

Now i know the lineup is so good that Posada could bat 4th and it would not matter BUT..why would you bat a guy who has been out for sooo long 4th..

Arod hit 35 HRs and drove in 130...plus with all the confidence factor,i think this move makes no sense..

Other than that the lineup is killer, with Cano 9..it completes a vicious circle

I know Torre says Andy Phillips is his best defensive 1st baseman,so i would expect to see him at least once in every game.

I thought Andy might have a shot starting tonight with Wang pitching,we have enough offense to stick Phillips 9th..
hope Sheff can handle all those balls in the dirt from the left side

Maybe Torre thinks Shef has better odds of moving a runner with a line drive single rather than a DP by A-Rod if the situation occurred.

I dont like the move. ...but we'll see how it plays out. If Arod performs and Sheff keeps getting healthier it shouldnt matter. The lineup really only matters in the first inning anyways.

I also dont get why Torre would state publicly that Mariano is strictly a one inning guy this post season. Why tip your hand? That makes zero sense.

      We'll see how the A-Rod thing plays out......only 9 hrs, 10 minutes.

I think the Mo thing could just be a way to let the competition know the bullpen is solid, so no need to overuse Mo, meaning a more rested Mo to hurt them game after game.

At least that is what I wanna believe.....

He also said in I believe August Mo would only be a 1 inning guy for the rest of the season and 2 games later he got a 6 out save.

If Farnsworth puts a guy on in the 8th you know those bullpen doors will fly open.

Starting Sheff at 1st with Wang pitching makes me a little nervous. Does he get bunted on??

I am ok with the lineup.

exaxtly...thats just info that we don't need to hear

But you really think he is going to stick to this, esp. if we are still playing 3 weeks from now..

The pen would have to be perfect for Mo to only pitch 1 innning a game..

Farnsey can't pitch back to back nights
if this goes 5,they play 3 games in a row..well will see what happens
