Not sure going short rest is the answer either.

I still can't believe he paid no attention to the guy on third......WTF!!!!

Cervelli/Burnett may be the better combo tonight........any issues AJ has will utterly be viewed as partly due to Jorge catching him IMO.

Posada threw out more runners than Cervelli this year and i wont even touch the marginal offensive upgrade comment. lets not make out Cervelli to be anything but a guy who should be on the bench for a playoff game in case Posada has to come out.

and short rest should not be done. cannot trust Hughes and Pettitte on short rest at this point in the season. if they cant win a Burnett-Hunter game, they shouldnt be playing for a championship.

Pft. Yankee fans are an attached bunch. Dont take it personally... but Posada is a marginal upgrade over Cervelli right now. You want to put up some stats to disprove that? He's hitting like .250 with 8ks and a .312 OBP. Thatsd a **** line. ...Cervelli could give you .220 w 1RBi/1R and I say that means Posada is a marginal contributor offensively.

i doubt Cervelli would even give that, im absolutely serious. Posada is not hitting right now and that line that you just about expect from Cervelli. plus he isnt stopping the running game so theres no point in playing him and losing either Thames or Berkman from the DH spot.

might as well bench Teixeira since hes hitless in the ALCS

Posadas been in a steep decline all year. If I play Cervelli, its not to place Posada in the DH. Im advocating sitting him entirely. ...and while Cervelli and Posada shake out to be about even when it comes to throwing guys out... Cervelli blocks the plate better and is a better defensive minded cacther. Oh, and he can bunt and executes situational hitting well. ...something that pretty much no one else in the lineup is any good at.

I like Georgey, but I agree he should probably sit out a game to get his head straight. Cervelli offers more speed, and better defense.

I'd honestly even think about having Berkman playing 1B against Righties considering how awful Tex has been.

I dunno what I would do with the DH, but CC Sabathia can probably hit better than half of these guys, at the moment. Have him batting cleanup.

HAHA the world would end if CC batted cleanup, jacked a HR, and pitched a great game. KABOOM.

i think Girardi wants the comfort thing for AJ. Posada has only caught him once since the All Star break so i guess its time for Cervelli to give it a shot at producing. might not get 3 ABs but lets hope the Yankees offense wakes up.

This series is starting to look interesting.. Every game so far, Texas has been on the board before the Yanks does. Other than the come back on Game 1, so far all the big bats are dead quiet. Even Swisher is doing bad.

They better pound the ball the next 2 games, they will be seeing Cliff Lee again.

Just walked in......what a miserable game!!

WTF was Girardi thinking......why walk Murphy and his .231 avg so AJ can pitch to Molina and his .348 avg??

I wanna beat Girardi down with his stats binder.......****ing dick cost us this series IMO.

I think it was Flaherity [sp] that said Joe is certainly managing these games like its september and not October.

At any rate there is plenty of blame to go around. From Posadas bone head throw, Berkman over running the bases, watching pitches down the middle of the plate. They have played poorly, they have been managed poorly.

    Lets try and win today

Boston 2007...last team to win the 1st game, lose the next two, and then win 3 in a row. It can and has been done.

the IBB was mind blowing, even if Molina hadnt hit the HR. you cant walk the tying run to scoring position and the go ahead run on base, thats just not how you do it. plus if you're not confident with your pitcher facing David Murphy, maybe he shouldnt be in the game. something in that binder has David Murphy as Barry Bonds cuz i think hes been IBB 5 times this season and 3 times by the Yankees.

the lack of hitting with RISP (3-33 since the 8th inning of game 1), 4 pitchers with an era over 10 and only 4 hitters hitting over .200 for the series is killing them. Posada's throw and Berkman's running mistake shouldnt be highlighted when theres more that has gone wrong.

it comes down to the fact that they cannot be completely shut down by Colby Lewis, Tommy Hunter and Derek Holland and expect to beat Texas. bad time for the whole team to go to ****.

i was upset that AJ was able to get Hamilton out after that happened with Gardner. i was wondering if they were going to show a fan getting killed in the stands on TBS.
