The crowd in Baltimore was pretty funny though. Once they saw it go through his legs, 70% (at least) of the crowd was just like "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh."

Anybody else kinda wanna throw Jerry Hairston's balls in to a blender? I mean ya never know what would have been, but I seriously think Petitte had a legitimate shot at a perfect game had it not been for him.

he also made a good play the inning before that preserved the perfect game at that point. he doesnt make that play, his error doesnt count for anything. so blaming him for giving away a perfect game that still had about 9 outs to go is not close to being right.
was away all weekend so i missed the games but they're still rolling. 32-11 since the All Star break. .744 winning percentage, out of control. Pettitte and CC were great this month and hopefully the team keeps it going through September and into October

i mean at least it wasnt Cody Ransom out there anymore. he would've made the error and thrown the ball into the stands.

If it were A-Rod or Ramiro Pena, they would have had it.

Better that Hairston's error took place in the 7th and not the 9th. Would have loved it
if Pettitte had gotten it though.

...but would Arod have made the bare handed play that Hairston made on Wieters the inning before?

Well AJ had another stinker but the bats bailed him out.
He is a very streaky pitcher, hopefully this is the end of the bad streak and he gets right for the playoffs!

No kiddin. Swisher should sign with the Os when he hits the FA market... he could hit 100 HRs in that park. The Captain seems to have "cooled" a little on this trip... making it more likely we'll see history at the new stadium.

LMFAO! Awesome
I hope Girardi pays attention to who picthes better home/away. Unlike Torre who doomed us w/ Wang at home two years ago. Anyone have the splist handy for these 4 guys?

Eh, I think it depends on situations too. Like CC and Andy are leftys. You pitch them, you will be combated with a righty heavy lineup. At someplace like Fenway with that piece of **** out in left field, having a lefty pitcher and a righty stacked lineup is probably not a good thing. Just my opinion though.

CC Home 5-2 3.54 Away 10-5 3.57
AJ Home 4-2 3.47 Away 6-6 5.12
Andy Home 5-4 4.65 Away 7-2 3.33
Joba Home 3-3 5.38 Away 5-1 3.15
Gues that would be your playoff rotation going off the splits

Its interesting that that is the way it shakes out. Now I really do think that will be the way Girardi sets it up in the playoffs. Andys #s are surprising. flyball pitcher... doenst K everyone... I guess it kinda makes sense in that stadium.

if the playoffs started today..
i would still throw
CC
Aj
Andy
Joba
gees..sounds like a ****ing boy band lol
anyway i feel very good going into battle with our 1-4 over everyone else's
but ironically imo its been the bats that have failed us the most in the post season..not so much the pitchnig
it seems when they go cold they do all at the same time..maybe you can attest that to the better starting pitching thats in the playoffs..
this year it will not happen
