Clay Buchholz is 4.46. Jon Lester is 4.99. The aces of the staff.

The Yankees only scored 11 runs in 3 games off that pitching. That's the best Red Sox pitching "performance" in a series in the last month. Historically, the Yankees would have scored 10+ runs per game off this kind of crap pitching.

Cant argue there. ...though... I prefer to think the Sox rose to the challenge. They really struggled with this series. ...I have such little faith in this team. After the single in the 9th, I cant say I wasnt expecting a Sox comeback.

So they are 81-62 tied for the AL East. 16 games to go...Here's what's left:

So the good news is.... they're schedule is kind of soft. They really need to play well against Tampa and put the nail in their coffin. Oakland is playing well. ...but Toronto and Minn might help us out.

So they have a West Coast swing....that they are starting without an off day after two extra inning wins. Maybe they'll sputter against Oak and Sea. I'll be rooting for Boston big time from here on out.

Boston will be fielding a mostly AA and AAA team the last 2 weeks of the season "to better assess their talent" while tanking the team to get a better draft pick slot. I'd be amazed if they won any of those 6 Baltimore games.

Come on man..it's mid sept. and despite all the injuries to KEY players and despite the fact they can't hit for **** with RISP we still have 1st place.

Pettitte is coming back next week and by October he should be around 85% effective.

That puts possibly Nova or Garcia in the pen with Joba who's been pitching much better .

Here is how I feel about the yanks and October, if they can win the east and not have to play that wild

card game and get home field in the first round they will go to the ALCS. Just wish they would have

ended with a better record than Texas .

The team cant hit worth a damn with RISP OR Bases loaded. They are a HR or bust offense.

The team HAS NEVER WON A GAME THIS YEAR when trailing after 8inning ..0-54. There is no magic. No team toughness.

CC is atleast usually good heading into the postseason and then is average in the Postseason. He is getting started early this year on being average [I believe he is hurt].

85% of Pettite isnt good enough for this offense.

Nova and Hughes are the keys. 2 guys that most of you wanted gone time and time again.

Kuroda I think will be good. But no matter what happens CC will get the first start because of Joes loyalty.

Soriano has 39 saves. Like I said earlier, the effects of not having Mo in the regular season wont hurt the Yankees. But it will in the postseason. Batters are at a severe mental disadvantage when they step into the batters box against Mo in October. Plus it hurts our depth big time.

The team is BELLOW 500 since mid July. Should they make the postseason they will probably be the worst team of the bunch.

Can they win? Sure. Just get in and see what happens.

But only the most homeristic [not a word] Yankee fans would say they are the favorite.

They got swept in 4 games against the A's. I am looking foward to that series in a week or so. This team has to hit better against good pitching.

you might not think that no team heading into the playoffs is good and thats fine. But the reality is the Yankees [if they make it] will be the worst of the bunch as they limp into the postseason. There bellow 500 record for roughly the last 2 months of the season is evidence of that.

Yea Teix hurts Arod hurts [Martin was never on DL was he] ect. But the A's don't have any 25 million dollar players, nor do the O's and they seem to be managing.

I would like our chances better if say Gardner were here. But he isn't so I am just being realistic.

I also don't care about playing "both sides of the fence".

Its kinda better then changing my prediction on a daily basis.

If the Yankees get in yes they can win. They aren't that much worse then any other team. But if I had to put money on it I would say no. There is no reason for me to think a team playing 500 since mid july will win the WS.

Baltimore had no where the amount of injuries the yankees faced,it really is irrelevant how much that player is being paid. and i could take your argument both ways, the sox had plenty "25 million dollar players" go down and look at them..it literally crippled their organization.

We are splitting hairs. I dont think the Yankees are an awfull team. I just think they other teams are playing much better.

I give a slight edge to the Yankees against the O's. Not because the Yankees are a better team but I see that series going 5 or 7 whatever the case may be and I'm not sure the O's are tough enough to win on the road.

The biggest reason I dont like the Yankees chances is CC.

He will get the first start because thats how Joe is.

He has 1 quality start in like his last 5 games.

If he finds his groove that gives the Yankees a shot.
