i've got a pic where there is a computer screen inplace of the vents and heater controls. then, the guy relocated his climate controls and radio to the cup holder area. if you want it i'll email it to you. (can't host pics)

i'd like to do a mk3 dash swap in my mk2. rather than relocated the head unit above the cupholders and put gauges above the heater controls or squeeze them down by the cupholders, i am not running heat/ac so i thought the climate control section might be great for putting 3 gauges. has anyone done this (and have pics) or do they know the size of each knob?
thanks!!

that could work. you have IM
but really i'm wondering if the heater controls are < or > than 52mm which is what the majority of gauges are. it'd be nice to A) put a plate with 3 cut outs for gauges right there or B) slip 3 gauges directly into the wholes the knobs usually go.

back from the dead...any photos of a setup like this? 45mm gauges seem like they would be a perfect fit (holes in the mk3 heater control panel are 1.75") but they are not nearly as common as the 52mm gauges you find just about everywhere (just over 2").

how about gauges where the heater control knobs were? I'm sure someone who's deleted heat and A/C has done so?

OK. so I did it. The process is pretty simple. I took a complete HVAC knob setup and got to cutting.
The guts were disassembled and cut down so the gauges would fit through the middle, but the frame would still be able to be screwed to the dash. The front cover was enlarged so the gauges would fit snugly.
