    Thread: FS: 2.0 (ABA based) 20V N/A engine kit

      I have assembled most of the parts to assemble a 2.0 20V N/A engine.
      This includes an:
      AEB head with ~70k miles (valves need replacing but included)
      transverse intake manifold,-60
      fuel rail,-40
      valve cover,-50
      and the correct pistons for a 2.0 20V (cast, 82.5 mm bore).

      what is the compression ratio wih thoes pistons and a stock crank,, and how about with the tdi crank about a 1-1.5 pt diffrence???

      they probably dont. its aba based. no one seems to "know" for sure, though... but that's what a lot of people think.

      I put ABA based because that was what I was going to use. They would actually work better in an AEG and provide slightly higher compression.

      Hey, are you splitting the 2.0 20v pistons yet? Or would you consider selling the kit minus the head? I have an AWP head lined up which I'm told is the highest flowing 20v head.

      Don't want to start an arguement, but i'm pretty sure the AEB 20v head is the only big valve head, and the highest flowing...

      is your kit still up for sale? i have an AEG 1999.5 Golf 2.0 and have been thinking about this for a long time. aside from what you provide in the 1000$, what else would be needed to complete the install? also, do you know if additional engine management will be necessary? i just want to increase the hp on my car. not looking to race or anything, just want more umph. about how much will this kit increase that? thanks

      what else would be needed to completely finish the hybrid.
      i've done research and most of it is about ABA engines

      some things like modding the oil returns, dizzy setup, etc. are easier with an AEG than an ABA. You could run stock management with a chip. Additional parts needed would be an exhaust manifold (factory euro AGN or custom), 16V crank pulley and narrowed serp belt pulley.

      not really since the pistons are 11:1 in an ABA and even higher (~12:1) in a short (220 mm) block.
