      A little update here..
      New parts have arrived

Grinding and measuring the piston rings

      And some mounting of the..

The ARP studs on its place

The next step with the engine is porting the head,16 new valve positioners(?),grinding the valves if they are in good condition, grinding the valve seats in 3 different steps(degrees)..

Tomorrow I`m going to glass blast the oil pan an make a hole for the return, and weld a plunger into it..I`m going to use a oilfilter house from a 83 GTI engine, cause of the external cooling..

And the car as it stands for now..

Please can you post up a pic of the plug for this ECU? I have a E6A, but it has no loom. The connectors are made by ITT Cannon, but I'm having no luck finding them. I'd like to see if the E6X and the E6A have the same connector so that I can decide if I should spend the money and purchase the loom from Haltech. They haven't responded to my request about the E6A loom.

Failing that, I'm desoldering the PCB connector, hard wiring the cables in and splitting the loom into several strands so that I can put 1 plug and remove injectors, or sensors, etc, etc.

      great project best of luck.

Do you have to raise that shifter box like that? Can't you just bolt it right on top of the hump? Is there a reason it needs to be raised or is it just to get it closer to the steering wheel?

Just curious as I've already bought my 02A tranny and am just starting to research the swap now.

I know that connector plug for the E6X is the same as been used in the E6K ECU,but the wiring loom is totally different..They are very slow to respond mails, and sometimes you will never get an answer from them..
But i can take a pic later...

Well,thanks.. The reason I raise and move the box is because I will lower the steering rack a bit,and lengthen it with 3-4 centimeters..
I dont want to stretch too much when i`m on the racetrack..

Thanks. Got hold of the local supplier for Haltech. The plug is about AU$60, the connector kit about AU$91. The complete loom for the E6A is about AU$250 so sounds like the better option. I might just go my own route and desolder the connector and hook up my own loom and plugs.

Here`s the pic of the plug.

      Todays "work"..
Tried a manifold from a GT28Rs today,it seems like there is good enough space..
But I think I will make the manifold a bit lower and move it backwards because I want to have the exhaust output at the right side of the car..
