daytona cruise cancelled

daytona cruise has been cancelled due to not enough cars going. we would like to have 10 or more cars going.

so........instead of a daytona lunch, it is now a lunch in palm bay. all of the northern guys will meet up in the toys r us parking lot at 11:00am. we will drive down to the applebees on babcock in palm bay. all of the south guys will meet us at applebees at 12:00 (noon). if you have any question, just post them.

regarding a long trip cruise. the lokey vw bbq in st. petersberg is still on for the 24th of this month. the bbq will be a vw show. start planning and we will talk more about it.

The Applebees is actually on Palm Bay road going towards Babcock. Chilli's is on Babcock.

I wont be able to make the lunch but I will make the BBQ.

sooo...heres the story of the last two days, and why i didnt have my gti up at the meet.

i decided to change my coolant (it was brown) and try to fix a little leak. wednesday afternoon i head over to a friends place (jeff/ubergolfgl) cause i didnt have the tools needed. we figure out what to do and try to take the drain plug out og the crack pipe. after working on it a while the plug breaks off halfway out. f u c k!! so we drill a little hole in it and drain the coolant through there. after its out we tap it with an extractor bit so we could unscrew the rest of the plug and put a new one in. the crack pipe breaks eventually. and we'd just been at the dealer buying a new plug, but didnt get the pipe. and the dealer closed at 6. so were screwed.

start back on it this morning after getting a new crack pipe. heres some pics to show how much of a biatch it is to get at.

ended up removing the secondary air injection to. i hate my volkswagen sometimes...

well, it started off simple enough. its just that once the crack pipe broke we had to replace it. and its burried underneath the front side of the block

also had a great time. after applebees we went to Cruise and Gold (wheel place) to check it out. after that we went to the VW, BMW, Porsche, and Audi dealership. All the sells guys were cool and answered all of our question. Peter might trade his R32 for a GT3 (one can only hope). we sat in and started up some of the Porsches. very cool. hope we could do this again.

reminder: June 24th is the St. Petersberg VW/Audi show and BBQ. we would like to have a lot of people to go out there. start planning.

Well guys...I have bad news...I wont be around for the next two weeks. The Army is calling me again to Camp Shelby Mississippi. I'll be back at the begining of July.

i need to get rid of 2.0L with trans, wiring harness, and ecu. my work just asked me to pay off a bill, like now, and need the money.

Got to see the throw length in Andrews but didn't check the install.
Very short throw.
Eip seems too OEM not much thought in the design.
