So my car now idles rough, some white smoke is coming out of the exhaust pipe and I smell fuel. Yesterday, air was run through my lines yesterday to check for a boost leak (there was none) and it smoked alot when starting it back up - was told the smoke was temporary and would go away. Don't know if it's related to this or not. Anyone able to vag-com my car today?

What changed??? As in what occurred just prior to you seeing this white smoke?

A boost leak test was performed (air thru the lines) - caused white smoke to come out the exhaust - that did cease after a day, but then I had a rich, gas smell, intermittent acceleration along with sparse black smoke coming out the exhaust. O2 sensor is confirmed bad - getting it changed out today.

What's up guys? I'm usually watching the TC thread; I'm from Vero, but work in Palm Bay. Drive a black '03 Wolfsburg Jetta, you might have seen it cruising on US1 cuz that's the only road I drive up your way . Doubt I'll actually make any meets (work + family = no time ), but you never know. I've passed some of you on US1 I think, seen a few nice looking VW's

Think I've seen you around Palm Bay (I live and work there). I take US1 south to Vero (will be driving down this afternoon) to see Ken at EPR (European Performance and Repair) - his shop is on US1 in Vero so you might already be familar with it.

When I go down, I usually go right after work which is around 3:45ish. Would have been cool to cruise down that way together.

Yay!! O2 sensor replaced (yes!), 2 rear Bilstein sport struts installed (wow, what a nice difference), Forge 007 diverter valve installed (Ken's gently used one - gave me a helluva deal!).

The icing in the cake: I don't have a CEL for the first time in 2 years!!

Yeh, might have to do that some day. Car's not much to look at though, and doesn't have a whole lot done to it. Intake, 3" DP, chip (done by PO, no idea what company), and WMI. Appearance wise, it has blacked out tails (ditching for candy-canes), E-Code headlights, and black LED sidemarkers. Otherwise it's stock

Damn, we probably just missed each other then; I leave at about 3:35 and my work's about a block off US1.

Selling my OEM Mk4 Jetta GLI springs - been sitting collecting dust in my mom's garage. Still in great shape - lower than stock Jetta springs, but not sure by how much. Gonna clean them and post them on craigslist, unless someone else wants to make me an offer.

From what I was told, the GLI springs lower the car 1 inch below that of a regular Jetta and they are a bit stiffer.

Ahhh, so you're the one I get to blame for the horrible processes . I got brought in as a contract worker fixing the deadest of the dead boards they have, and then got offered a full-time position. Finally putting my EE degree to use

And I might take those springs from you; I'll get back with you. What year car are they from, and 1.8 or VR6?

Not too bad, finally making some progress on the new Corrado. The VR is out, the ABS is gone, engine compartment wiring is mostly pulled (rats got it), and I'm doing the planning for a SERIOUS rewire that includes adding a GM fuse and relay panel underhood. I've also got the OBD2 ABA that is going in as a temporary powerplant while I do a proper rebuild on the 20/20. STILL waiting for my EFR 6258 . July is what I am hearing from Treadstone Performance .
