Skull Skate decks are awesome! Big as hell. But kinda expensive.

I got into longboarding because I wanted something different from street skating. And thru longboarding I discovered slalom and speedboarding.

    As for longboards I ride...

    - PPS Ditch Killer with Randal 180s and trimmed avalons.
    - Gravity Jesse Parker with Old Trackers and 65mm NoSkoolz
    - Comet Voodoo with Holeys and Strikers
    - Comet DH Proto with Crails and S9 GOS wheels

    ADDICTED.

Been skating for years. Stick with randal 2's most of the time and randal speed trucks if i need them. I prefer ABEC 11 wheels (the soft ones especially). Decks vary by the year :-D

ive been longboarding since 2002, and its really fun. I got 2002 version sector9 pintail. with 80mm sector9 "godess of speed wheels", and abec 7 swiss bearings i think. I love carving down hills, its one of the best feelings ive had.

I have a set of Abec 11 70's Flashbacks and love them. Awesome wheels unless you wanna slide.

I've got my longboard which I love as much as my car. I think its an old Gravity but not sure. Does its job though. I picked it up years ago in a small French surfshop Needs new bearings and wheels though, still running on the wheels it came with

Anyone into getting photos of longboarding? I keep meaning to try it out...

I love my flashbacks because they accelerate fast because of their size and my 78a's have never broken traction. I also have some G&S yoyo reissues on a alva reisssue deck and those things are great for sliding. Apparently G&S used the original molds for the wheels and just bumped it up to a harder durometer so they are almost identical to the originals. for retro technology that still holds its own today

yeah, its funny tho, i snowboard regular but i skate goofy. i can snowboard goofy but not very well, and i cant skate regular at all. kinda wierd, but it does keep your balance and stuff in tune for snowboarding, plus the whole carving feeling is nice

yea the bushings aren't the greatest, pretty damn squeaky too. how much does it really help to flip the hangers?

  28. 08-23-2006 08:23 PM #28
duno if you were joking about flipping the hangers...but those are inverted kingpin trucks, suppostue turn better.

so they are on the right way

I know what they are, randal r2s, and by hanger i mean just the hanger, not the baseplate.

And in response to flipping the hangers, it will make your turning circle a bit smaller, lower the board and increase stability.

And as for the bushings, really any longboard bushing/softer skateboard would work, not sure how much you weigh but id reccomend something in the 80a-90a hardness, if you want something more specefic, just give me your weight and the type of riding you'll be doing...
