i have a Sector 9 Luke Nosewalker, its 57" and has 10" Gullwing Mission 1 trucks, and 61mm/78a Nineball Wheels, with Abec 5 Greaseball bearings and i dont know exactly which bushings, but they are doing good so far.

    now for the picss.

i ride with a group of 6 friends, and we meet up once a week and skate ALL day, to feel the inner beauty, and dont come home till the wee hours of the morning, then we all go to one of our houses and pig out and chill and talk about the day, we all have sector 9s, and love them to pieces.
Longboarding is just such an amazing feeling, that feeling of freedom, of just going somewhere with your homies, dont where your going, but aslong as your going, and its something nothing i have ever felt compares to.

    I longboarding.

    i'd rather be low.

My first board, ever. I love it, so much fun!
The only bad thing is I skated around 2 miles, and I noticed a bad pain coming from my ankle, I knew what it was achilles tendon, and I was right, had to do an MRI, turned out to be a pretty serious tear and had to wear a boot that went all the way to my knee for 6+ weeks, Sucked, but oh well. I'm back to riding it, but being extra careful, can only go up and down my driveway for now.

I may regret asking this, but what do you guys think of fiberglass decks like those offered by soulboards? I got mine as a commuter two years ago and have put tons of miles on it. I went with fiber instead of wood for the weight savings and the fact that I knew I would be riding it in the rain. The don't seem to be the popular choice though....

  7. 08-15-2007 05:54 PM #147
    Stay far away from Soulboards.

bad quality. I dont know about their service. I mean any company that sells Factor 9 (sector 9 ripoff lulz) is wack.

madaboutvws got it right! Support people who skate.

That was my first and i'm lookin' for a replacement that is much stiffer and far better for bombin' the hills. Thanks for the links

Sector 9 stuff is not bad.. it's the Ikea of longboarding, but the quality is generally fine. Once you get into it more, you'll learn how many options there are for your second board

A great online shop is http://www.milehighskates.com

I roll on a Comet 48" Pintail, Randall 150's, and some beat up Kryptonics Classic K's. Sliding really wears down your wheels!

here are a few shots my dad and brah have got of me . the gullwings trucks on my board are super fun and work great in a bowl . I cant remember the model name but they are essentially 2 sets of trucks stacked ontop of eachother . the board sits abot a inch and a half higher than normal trucks which is weird at first.

starting em out young ... 11 months

I've got a real jones for a longboard because of this thread. Never skated before but surfed a bit in Hawaii in vacation and fell in love. Too bad I live in Iowa. I've got decent balance already from years of crappy snowboard riding starting when I was 10. I'm looking for a good starter board for carving and cruising, hoping to recreate that surf feel. I've heard kracked skulls boards are amazing, but I am open to suggestions if any of you have em. Hoping to keep the price below $150 or so for a complete.

finnally got pics of my board
sector 9 deck with rII trucks(stock bushings) and sector 9 65mm 78a wheels

i want to use my board for cruising and doing tight turns with moderate speeds, i'm gonna flip my hanger back to normal and what else should i do? bushings, deck, etc?

and how tight should i put the truck's king pin?

Had a pretty big longboard meet this weekend. We all dress up in dress shirts and ties and bomb through downtown Toronto, around cars, through traffic. Go from uptown to downtown, it was awesome. This is my 4th year doing this. The turnout this year was just amazing... On to the pics

Edit: for some reason the water marks say 2006

I have a dregs molly. Seems to be not a lot of love for dregs or biker in general from some people, but I like the board, it has a cool oldschool kind of shape. Not a huge fan of the invader trucks, but they work for now.

Anybody else seem to get cut off by cars a lot? I prefer to go out and skate in the middle of the night when there are only a few or no cars on the streets. So much more fun that way.

Anyone out there have a new Never Summer longboard? They are kind of pricey but I hear they have a three year warranty which is pretty much unheard of.
