I saw it when they first got it over a year ago. It is beat to help. Body damage, uneven wear on tires, excessive engine noise even for an 8v, heater core was bad and bypassed, ac didn't work, interior was a mess with some panels missing, and moon roof didn't work.

    It's a 500 dollar car.

Not Southwest but rare car, good price http://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/cto/3042306681.html
Classified forum rules require that you post a price. If you don't know what to ask, they suggest that you search past FS threads.

So, when your item sells, please don't edit out your price and description when you mark it "SOLD". Rather, edit to show selling price.

Checked KBB and it seems that you're right. Only $7500 even at dealer's retail.

David Borla isn't a name I would drop. Check out the Adam Carolla CarCast episode back in 2010 when Borla was showing off this car. Clearly doesn't know anything about it. Adam wants to know if its transverse or longitudinal. He starts BSing, claiming you can't tell with the engine cover. Finally gets pressured into answering and said it was a longitudinal motor. Makes a claim that the exhaust was "really, really, quite" and sounded like crap before he put his exhaust on. Then starts talking about how some Audis have a flapper in the exhaust without mentioning that the R32 they are looking at has the same feature. Clearly he had no clue.

I don't know his story, but I suspect he's working on the business side of things and not engineering much.

Why do people always put "A/C works, but needs recharge" in their ads? If the A/C needs a recharge, it doesn't work. I know it's OT, but I just had to throw it out. I'm not going to get to 10k posts by just sitting here.

May as well consider the AC needing new parts too, they always lie/don't know.

A cheaper option than recovering: http://diyleathersolutions.com/ This is a branch of Advanced leather solutions. You might have to touch up the area where your butt slides every once in a while but their products work well and are easy to work with. These were blue when I picked them up:

If the statement "originality is dead" were true, vwvortex would be a series of Polaroid photographs and ham radio broadcasts. If the geriatrics thought VW's had limited potential, they'd probably spend their time acquiring parts from other manufactures and building entire cars from scratch. Remediation is the key element in creativity. Why should I care that about something I've seen 23,855,208, 120 times?

That eurovan was originally owned by a friend of the family. It was sold to this guy several months ago for 500 bucks. It has been in several accidents, and is on its 3rd engine (all replaced by Chapman and camelback vw)

That thing was beat but has had significant work done over the years before the original owner gave up and bought a cc.
