I've seen an install on Spike TV of that style of turbo...tons of lag (obviously), but saw the dude light it up on the freeway after install...
...just doesn't look reasonable for any kind of daily driver...but for the track it might be interesting since it'll allow you to get off the line w/o full power, then BAM...it's like hittin' the Torreto NAWS button...

I have seen that turbo kit done on a Corvette before because of a lack of space in the engine bay for it.

When set up properly there is very little lag. It is actually on par with a conventional setup.

I just don't know how it's possible to not have any lag...I mean...that's a helluva lot of pipe to go through...but then again...I do remember the piping being the "cooling" point for it since IIRC there is no intercooler...
I guess it's probably slightly more piping than conventional turbo setups after you include intercooler piping and so forth...so...meh...
for some interesting technology. I do remember the car that it was installed on screamin' down the road...so it couldn't of been THAT bad...

That sounds like the sick a$$ rabbit 20 valve put together for the UTI student. I forgot his name, but it is a very sick car. Very clean swap and puts out some crazy numbers for a car that is less than 2000lbs. I have seen it, and ridden in it and it is a steel at $6500. He has more than that in the motor and tranny swap. Somebody jump on this![]()
