I was on the turnpike last night with my grandma...just didn't think it was worth stopping by...


Kinda chuckle that with all the new people in the scene...not more would turnout to an established GTG...

What really killed this GTG was the move from 1 end of the pike to the other. Thats really when people started not showing up. (getting older, having a family, selling cars plays into it as well)

It wasn't even that. We had some awesome gtg's down at the new location. People have just moved on.

I wish I could go back to 06 -07 even 08 to the way the gtg and scene used to be ..I hate to sound old but people don't do things the way they used to .I know I did some weird things to my car but it's way worse now ,it sucks so much ! Kids don't go into small details or search for rare parts or euro stuff . It's coils ,wheels and stickers and that's it ! All these newer people have brotiforms or ccws on a stock car and think think the car is highly modded . Swank ,myself,Dustin ,and Brian have air yes but we have done our time .I can speak for myself and say I bought the air to drive my car not to be better than people ..I'm just bitching I guess , tired,on day number 10 straight at work blah. Some of you will understand what I'm getting at .

I do stuff fo my car for me , for example I'm searching everywhere for 3.5 cabrio clip on door moldings . And just installed the chrome door strikers , to match my handles and my seat belt restraints on the floor ..most mkiii kids wouldnt see the difference .

Any ways , I miss you all a **** ton ! Ct is my real family and gtgs still will never top a gtg here . But I'll be back home this weekend for a lil .myself and Mandy get the pleasure to see Dustin and shelly get married in the cape and I'll be in misquamicut on Saturday .but sunday and Monday morning I'll be around the state somewhere . Maybe see some people !

When I make my move, I'm going to try to get something going down that way like what we used to have up here.

I doubt it'll work, due to the scene as it is, but, you never know.

I agree completely. But when it comes down to it, a lot of those friends came from a common interest. And whether that common interest fades over time, if they remain your friends, then that's all that counts.

People moved on, yes. But do you recall the parking lot FULL every week at DD (and prior to my moving to CT in '07) because I surely do. I went to a few gtg's when we were "looking" for a new location.... slowly the turnout died down. Say what you want, but the move "helped" lose its luster. Eitherway, it sucks! I met some great people and then some not so great. Life happens, next is moving onto the "adult car scene." (We are all heading there.)

I've toyed with the idea of moving it back there. DD was never the problem. Carmen Anthony's was.

Its funny... When you have the car your never happy with it. Now that its in a garage/not drivable/inop/not registered... etc you miss the car dearly.
