that sounds to be in the shift selector...that or it's a bad break light swtich...generic codes are too vague.....do your brake lights work?

also, have you SEARCHED on that code?

Yup. I've Googled it and searched here but all I get is a list of other DTC. My brake lights still work. Any other input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I just had a similar problem. The connection for this sensor I found to be at the base of the shifter. If you tear out the encasement, the sensors plug into the bottom of the shifter.

Assuming you have an automatic transmission, correct?
Is the car getting stuck in a certain gear?

I'm having the same problem with a 96 jetta clk auto, my car wont shift into 4th, is this a internal issue, hoping external so I can fix it and keep going. 50- 55 is top speed 4 me until I can fix it.

Ok, my girl had this same issue... The response we got from the dealer was that it could be the solenoid wiring harness, or the valve body. now... upson inspection of her car, the wiring harness was bad. we replaced that, put the tranny back together and still had the code. the car was still stuck in gear. You will have to find a scrapped tranny and pull the solenoids from the valve body. VW will not sell you the solenoid alone. they will only sell you the $1400 valve body. check the wiring harness first. pickup some fresh tranny fluid and a new filter. and see where you are then. hope that helps
