i hated them at first but they are nice cause they are so cheap and easy to maintain...they have grown on me a lot

i wont let her get that signature line stuff, the only thing she has is the little wallet and the blue suede bag

the legacy line is really nice, but that one bag has her compaining all the time about its weight

    my personal collection for work:

coach portfolio, coach messenger bag...oh yeh on 1 of our 2 coach leather chairs

sorry ladies, but here is some of my wife's collection - mostly vera and coach

this does not include any of the coach shoes, watches, sunglasses, and additional drawer of misc accessories

...and if she saw how i treated her bags for these pics, she would kill me

good lord thats a lot of purses

ok clearly there is no"letting" involved in a collection like that, but she knows I don't like it and most of her other items she asks my opinions

you're the one that said your bf would stop talking to you if you chose to purchase premium denim ie $100+ a pair....

you know he didn't mean it in that context.

Hey now ! Anything worth having is worth having at least a dozen of !

The way I "collect" stuff I like, I have a true appreciation for layouts like that.

Wow, I can't believe how many people don't think twice about blowing so much on purses...my family/bf/cat would kill me if I spent that much on a bag, but then again, I make less than $40k a year as a recent college grad.

Maybe when I "grow up" one day it won't seem like so much money?? LOL

I'm with you. I love bags but I cannot justify spending so much on one. The most expensive bag I've puchased was a $118 bag, on sale. Even then I thought twice about it but wanted to treat myself.

Plus, I toss my bag left and right so it's not worth spending so much on something that takes a beating.

Okay, another guy chiming in. My wife is a handbag fanatic. I believe she is close to 51 or 52 designer bags now. She has Coach, Kate Spade, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Rafe, Revamped and many others. In order to keep them interesting, I have begun painting them. Yeah, I know, crazy, huh? When you can't find something that is eye-catching on its own, you must modify them, so I do. She has spoiled me with Coach, Louis Vuitton and Kenneth Cole wallets, so I lucky, too. I am a bit more knowledgable about bags than most guys, but believe me, when I go into Saks, Nordstrom's or other high end stores the sales people like it because I can come in and say what I want and not wander around in a fog. Guys should take note and check with your girls and make sure you surprise them with a desinger bag of their dreams. Yeah, it is costly, but it is worth it.

no trust me its worth it...a real bag will cost, but it will also last. coach stands behind their bags 100% and will repair the leather, recondition them, and replaces any damaged hardware on them for a small shipping charge (like $25). real leather will take every day use, if they didn't my wife would never use them. she is hard on her bags and uses them for everything, and they still all look like new.

What does everyone think of the Betsey Johnson bags and/or accessories?

I was going to go buy a Juicy tote bag, and was distracted by a really cute Betsey Johnson tote instead. Now, I am thinking I want the BJ bag, but don't know whether her flamboyant patterns and colors will look "out dated" really fast? Any opinions?

ooooh boy, wow. My wife has expensive tastes. She works in the industry so if you don't accessorize the right way, you aren't taken seriously. Let's see she has

Chanel, Gucci, Chloe, LV (kind of played out), Rebecca Minkoff?, that's all i can think of now. Theres about 20 on display, and let's not even talk about the shoes....

Before i knew her I thought $100 was a lot for a purse, now if it's 10x that i feel like she's going easy, heh heh. perspective, perspective.

Firefighterjunkie, i think i remember you from the employment forum. Anyway, my experience is that it's hard to find any sort of discount on "couture". When I was in Paris, Chanel was actually more expensive there than here. It's tough, those bags really are ridiculous, but my wife explained that the classic chanel (god, I listen way too much, I even know the model #) 2.5 will never be out of style so you can wear it when you're 27 or 77. I can't relate to paying $2200 for a purse, but if it makes her happy, how can I argue. She can't quite relate to the need for an 38" LCD TV with HD.

lv speedy is classic, but i love totes so i'd suggest the cabas piano model. it's not HUGE but big enough for all her girly things

wish i was getting a new purse

does the oversized G stand for gawdy or guido's girlfriend jk

sorry but that bag overly bites the lv monogram denim line. it's fine if you don't want to spend, or can't justify spending X amount on a handbag but to buy something that looks similar in design is just as bad in my opinion.

    Wow this thread is old...

But anywho..I use to sell Dooney & Bourke hand bags in the early 90's (I wanted to get into luxury/designer sales and that was the only open position at the time) and that's when I learned about true quality hand bags. I got my wife her very first designer bag, a really nice deep brown D&B back in 95' and do you know she still has it to this day, it may not be the cleanest but there's not a break in a single stitch, no rips or holes, nothing. She's a major Coach gal now but every so often she'll pick up a nice D&B (customer service on both are awesome). She's ready to try a LV and or Gucci now, she was really never fond of those two before but she's really liking the new designs.
