That's great, thanks. I had a list like this for my MK IV and was looking for one for the MK V. The list in the Owner's Manual is nowhere near complete enough.

      Awesome, thanks!

My 2006 GTI has an interesting "quirk" though - SC49 (fuse panel C, fuse 49) is used!
For some reason, the switched 12v wire for the headlight switch was run to fuse 49. The frustrating thing is no one put a fuse in that position during assembly so my headlight switch wasn't illuminating the green foglight indicator when I turned the foglights on. After much searching with a multimeter, I discovered there were wires run to that SC49 fuse position. I put a 5amp fuse in and presto - working foglight indicator, etc. on the switch. Anyone else come across this??

It was definitely done at the factory and not some dealer hack job...

Would you happen to be able to suggest to me a good location for a fuse tap for hardwiring a Garmin GPS? The specific fuse tap is good for a 10A or less accessory and is to be used with no more than a 10A fuse for the actual tap itself (ie. there are two fuses, both 10A or less).

i don't know how accurate this is
on my fuse box in the dash on the left side
      it has

      #27=15A
      #28=20A
      #29=10A
      #30=empty
      #31=empty

according to your chart, and a pdf file i have it should read

      #27=15A
#28=25A ( not used in USA)
      #29=10A ( not used)
      #30=20A (TCM)
      #31=20A (Brake System Vacuum Pump)

I suppose I'll go with fuse one since I'm looking for switched power.

i don't know how accurate this is
on my fuse box in the dash on the left side
      it has

      #27=15A
      #28=20A
      #29=10A
      #30=empty
      #31=empty

according to your chart, and a pdf file i have it should read

      #27=15A
#28=25A ( not used in USA)
      #29=10A ( not used)
      #30=20A (TCM)
      #31=20A (Brake System Vacuum Pump)

Neither the chart posted or the one in D.Passat00s sig are completely correct.

You don't have to tell me, you should see the fuse layouts in the Bentley manual
