I just got my textured rub strips on and so that means all my new stuff is done for now. I won't be able to make it out tonight (not like anyone would miss me) but next Saturday there is a very distinct possibility that I will show if we can get a few folks out.

Yeah, we really need to keep something going. I haven't been able to do anything because my right control arm, ball joint, and wheel is broken. So my car is parked until I get my shipment in.

Just trying to introduce myself to the Austin Group. My name is Morio and I have been into the VW/Audi scene since 1995. I have had all marks of VWs except for the mk5. I currently own a 2001 Audi TT 225 QC and a 2003 Eurovan GLS. My Family and I will be relocating to the Austin Area within 2 months (I should be there in about three weeks). I am a very active person in the local SC VW/Audi scene. We do alot of drives (the dragon's tail, etc), Shows, Tech days, BBQs, etc.. So I am more than willing to head things up if needed! I do all my own maintenance, Timing belts, etc...I am having to give up my current mk2 project so I will definitely be looking for another one in about 6-8months....

Please don't hesitate to honk, yell, scream or stop me to say hi! Just look for a Black TT with color matched RH wheels oh yeah and the SC tag would let you know it's me!

The office will be downtown..so I am completely open to where I live.. We are originally from Southern Cali so a commute is nothing for me.... but I would like no longer than 30mins to downtown if possible.. We are planning on renting at first until we get to know the areas around Austin.. so tell me some good places!!!! I am sure I will be downtown for most of the time until my wife and kids are able to be with me..... I am a sucker for music and beer

What price range are you looking at for houses... that kind of has a large impact on what I'd personally recommend to someone.

Ok, so I lied. I can't make it this saturday.

My father recently got his motorcycle liscense, and the next weekend bought a 89' BMW K100 (1000cc) motorcycle. Yesterday he wrecked, hitting a pothole and sliding on his left side, wearing only leather jacket, gloves, jeans, and a helmet.

He's currently in ICU at Brackenridge Hospital downtown. Looks like his internal bleeding from his spleen has stopped so now he just has to worry about his back/bruised ribs/and tons of road rash. He probably won't be out of ICU until late tomorrow evening, and then he has to be moving to the trauma department for a few days before he can be cleared to leave.

It was listed for sale again, just recently on Craigslist. I'm not sure if that makes 3 or 4 owners since you.. :/ It's a shame. That car was at the top of my list of favs for awhile..

So whats up guys? Lots of crap has happened resulting in the lack of my participation. We got crashing car, bikes and various other things. I, however, should be back in the game relatively soon seeing as how I have the ball joints in the mail, the wheels in the mail, and the new control arms on the car. Soon enough, ill post pictures of the wheel and control arm, and if your lucky, pictures of my car with my new wheels.

I dont know if you all will be able to make it to any GTGs this month, its gonna be hectic, but since the semester is almost over, ill be able to hang out a lot more. (Cort, that means lots of drinking with you buddy.)

I have a rental finally (Tred 2007 Jetta 2.5) so I can at least make it out. I am in the same boat as Jakko with school (and graduation) but I should be free after Dec 11th. I am hoping to have my ride fixed or have a new one before 2007.

new around here i might have posted a few pages back, i'm unsure. but yeah, anyone know of who drives a black mk1 gti (possibly cabriolet) couldn't see it was too dark. heading from round rock, in my gf's neighborhood, seen it a couple times now, was getting onto 35 south around like 10 something? just curious if you're on here....or if you guys know of him or what, because i have no clue of anyone around here. lol.

i did post earlier, prob was at the gf's and didn't add pics. here's and introduction. just moved from central arkansas in september. both of my cars are still there, trying to get them down. motor blown in the 97 and i just have to go home and put this ignition in for the mk2. i have no clue of anyone in the area really. just the girlfriend and her friends. living in north austin currently and looking to meet some fellow vw folks, whether or not i pull up in one of my cars or not haha. also, if any of you know of anyone has any mk1's or mk2's for a cheap ass price let me know...just need a daily driver. my other two will not like the roads too much here i dont think. 80/60 cupkit might be a little much for the roads maybe. haha. but yeah just needing something that runs, i dont care if its ratted out or what, just need to get back into a vw until i can atleast get my stuff down here. well, hope to meet some of you sometime, take care. later.

Nice Mk3 man. Hopefully ill see you around. My car is in limbo seeing as how I dont have wheels or ball joints. Soon it will be back up and drivable. I like the Mk2 as well. Check craigs list for a Mk1 or Mk2, my buddy just got a Mk2 out of Killeen and so I have another project to toy with. Also, there is a Mk1 GLI for sale in South Austin. Again, check craigs list. Good luck man.
