I'm sure if he were dumping it on the ground with some BBS RS on it, the feedback would be more positive.

I received some great info, worth a read.

I think I might get some self contained gpu h20 units

Thanks Andrew. Good info for sure. Thanks for sharing.

(i did offer you a 600w as well)
Problem is solved without a new PSU for the time being. I played Bf last night for hours after correcting my clock speeds with MSI Afterburner. I am getting a new PSU this weekend but for now everything is working just great with the following clock settings:

    Core Voltage: 1000mV
    Core Clock: 900MHz
    Shader Clock: 1800MHz
    Memory clock: 2000MHz
    Fan speed: Auto
I found a lot of folks having issues with the 560ti and BF. I do believe a majority of them are PSU related but the fix above worked for me. Frame Rate is unchanged and i'm averaging 87 fps with everything on Ultra.

Jeremiah -- Mandi's wheels look amazing! Really love the look and love the tire size.

Shawn -- sucks man! Sounds like you need heavier springs if its rebounding like you say. I thought of you yesterday when I saw two E36 M3's cruising Burnet Rd together. One was that crazy Yellow of yours and the other was the blue you always see with E36 M3's. They noticed me in the S4 trailing them and as I passed they both threw up a sign. I was impressed that they didn't do the typical BMW douche bag eye roll !!!!!!!!

Well, looks like things have been going well for everyone!

Things are pretty much the same here, but wanted to follow up about SoWo...it was a blast and something I don't plan on missing next year. Was the drive long? Sure, but going early and leaving late gives you days of SoWo fun! There is literally something there for all Euro enthusiasts.

In total from Austin/ Waco/ SA we had 7 cars of our own. We met up with Houston folks and eventually met up with some Dallas folks. A big caravan definitely moves slower, and the experience has its ups and downs. On the way back, I rolled solo.

If you're interested, go check out the Events section of VWVortex and review over the threads for this year's SoWo. Lots of pics, lots of stories, well because it was a lot of fun!

I had an awesome time with the Austin folks and look forward to next year!

Not wanting to drive out there but really want to go? My copilot this year will be taking one of their own VWs next year, so if you can deal with me, and I can deal with you then let's figure that out. I want everyone to be able to experience SoWo, and helping just one of you to go will help with the domino effect I'm looking for.

Did you overclock the card? IIRC, the stock speeds are: 835 MHz core and 1000 MHz memory. Either way, glad you got it sorted out.

I actually turned the volts up a bit and turned the clock speed back per the instructions i found in the battle log forums. Its holding stable as I have left BF running all day in campaign mode. Temps have averaged 59 - 61 and its been running since 5:45 AM this morning

I have a new PSU waiting for me at Fry's. They have a sale on Antec and Thermaltake psu's this weekend.

As a lot of you know, I've been having trouble with my transmission in my R, here's the latest:

Dropped off my car this morning at Maund VW, they put me in a rental (which is being charged to the dealership), just got a call and said the master tech agrees there is definetely a problem, and wants to take the transmission apart to see what's going on, whatever parts that will be needed, will definetely need to be ordered, so they want to find me a loaner and get me out of the rental (obviously they realize this will take some time).

They promised to call me as soon as the can get the car up on a lift and I requested they take pictures.

I'll report back as soon as I hear what they found.

I'm so happy that this is finally getting proper attention.

This is awesome to hear Seth! Not the part about the transmission troubles of course, but knowing Brett is already making an impact at Maund is a win for all of us. I certainly hope they return your R to you soon. Shortly after getting it back lets schedule time to lay down some product on your car's paint.

So Collin and I are going to look more at the S4 this Sunday. Its no longer shifting bad when the tranny is cold (i.e. mornings from sitting all night) but it is noticeable in the afternoons when I typically drive longer/more. Plan is to get it on the lift, inspect everything again, drop the transmission pan, and continue from there. I swear its like water is somewhere in the system or some bullisht. It just doesn't add up from what's its doing and its hard to diagnose

Also will be doing the R's brakes this weekend in case anybody wants to swing by. Just doing pads but next time around I do brakes it will be a full brake job (rotors, pads, fluid etc, caliper clean up/paint blah blah blah). I also need to get around to pulling my front apart to swap in my new a/c fan but I doubt i'll get to that this weekend.

Such a bummer about the transmission. I was just driving our friends DSG TDI and was actually really enjoying the transmission. I would start getting buck wild and make an enormously big deal out of it while be very calm.

Fluid breakdown is what it's sounding like ..... But that's a very unusual event in any case I've only had that 4x ever to deal with .... I'm assuming you've tried the new fluid then literally drive enough to circulate and flush again? Some s4's have done this with success but it's just a suggestion ....

Yeah Al, I have been getting similar information that it could just be dirty a$$ fluid and its best to at least change it out. It will be done on Sunday and we'll go from there.

Everything else on the S4 is solid. Doing the second oil change this weekend since we've purchased it and at 5K miles on the oil just from looking at it I know I could go much longer still being a nice gold color. It burns oil naturally according to Audi but we've only gone through 3/4's of a quart which is very good considering folks on Audezine burn quarts

If anybody wants to chill tomorrow, just let me know. I plan to tackle all my car stuff minus the transmission stuff.

I also plan to go down to that spot I took the S4 where the graffiti and castle looking building is. Gonna do some shots with a tripod if anybody wants to tag along.

    TEXT ME.

OH and flowmasters so sound soooooooo nice on the 4.2L. Two 40-series mufflers would do the trick

They look hot man. Really really love how you incorporated the center cap and vw valve stem cover. Very nice.

edit ... i called them valve stem cover gaskets so glad I called myself out on that before somebody else in here did

Went back to Maund today, got a call stating that the clutch was cracked and they sent them the wrong replacement clutch. They asked if I wanted to see it and it was cracked in 3 places (just like the other guy in the R forum) the pressure plate still looked new and I asked about the flywheel and synchros. I was told they were fine. They asked me to return the rental Jetta and put me in a loaner CC which is nice except for all the wheelspin. I should get my car back on Wednesday.

The Army is full of straight murses. It's great pay (depending on seniority) and you work w chicks most of the time. It has it's perks. That being said there are two types of Nurses crazy ones and those w/ baggage.
