the more money you spend on a cat toy....the faster your cats will lose it!

Or ignore it for the first bag they find.

lmao this!! We bought those plastic bell balls for the kitties - when we want them to play with them, they ignore them, and when we wish they'd ignore them (the middle of the night -___-) they suddenly become the loudest, most fun toys ever!

The kitten loves his ball of used painters tape quiet AND fun!

sticky side in.. i wadded up most of the pieces to give it some texture, but then wrapped the ball in a few pieces sticky side in. that way it's not completely solid so they can get their teeth/claws in there

the kitten is starting to get fluffier, so i'm sure the sticky ball would've turned into a fur ball before long anyway

well, our kitten Ghillie is quite the gift that keeps on giving.. this time: fleas! he's under 5lbs (but over 12 weeks old), so I am hesitant to use any flea spray/powders on him. I've read so many bad things online about Hartz Ultraguard plus products, which seem to be the most commonly available, causing instant death and/or bad issues with cats of various ages.

Anyone have personal experience with kitten fleas and how to get rid of em?

I got Seargent's flea spray for cats at Shoprite and tested it on our huge cat first, and he seemed to be fine. I tried a little watered down on the kitten, but not sure if it's doing anything. Ranger was still itching this morning so the stuff may not harm anything! Brb while I put the next load of sheets/cat toys in the laundry

What about a flea shampoo? And have him indoors full time?

We tried to give him a bath and it was like trying to bathe a wolverine on meth in a cactus field.

Also, the little one doesn't go outside. The big one does, but I will be damned if I get anywhere near him with water. I value my life.

Oh, he's like that is he? My mom has a cat like that. Sweetest cat in the world but you will die if you try to give him a bath.

Our adult cat LOVES stinky shoes. She rubs all over our sneakers after we work out and absolutely loves my husband's work shoes. She'll shove her whole head in the shoe and starts purring.

As for the fleas, we had fleas on our kitty for the first time a few months ago. She's an indoor cat, but she does go on our deck on occasion (on a leash...that she's not fond of). She got a treatment with Advantage and they went away. I was more worried about the fleas in our house rather than on her (I only knew she had them because I found "flea dirt" on her when I brushed her one day. She is an obsessive scratcher anyway). We were finding them around for a short bit, but none in a few months. Trying to keep up with the Advantage on her so we can keep letting her walk around outside. We've used Advantage for years on all of our critters, dogs and cats, with no problems.

No one LIKES cleaning the litter box, but this is a little extreme:

    http://www.upi.com/Odd_News/2012/10/...#ixzz28wl2zAEh

    Odd News
Police: Man fired gun into litter box
    Published: Oct. 10, 2012 at 12:45 PM

FORT PIERCE, Fla., Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said officers responding to a report of shots fired arrested a man accused of firing off three rounds into a kitty litter box.

Fort Pierce police said officers responded around 8:15 p.m. Oct. 1 to the home of David Ciullo, 53, and he told them the gunshot sounds reported by his neighbors resulted from him firing shots into a litter box in his back yard, TCPalm.com reported Wednesday.

"I shoot the gun once in a while to test it out," the police report quotes Ciullo as saying.

"He continued to state this happens randomly every week or two while occasionally intoxicated," the report said.

Officers discovered three cartridge casings in the backyard kitty litter.

Police said they discovered Ciullo had two felony convictions in 2011. He was arrested on charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and discharging a firearm in public.

so i found a tiny bald spot behind roger's ear. it sorta looks like he scratched himself too hard but it could also be ringworm. shouldn't ringworm be bigger than that, this spot is maybe the size of a small pea.

oh well, taking roger to the vet tomorrow to make double sure what it is. cheap insurance really... here is a pic of my cat climbing on the ONE place in the house i cannot reach... smart bugger.

Cat leads owner to discovery of ancient Roman ruins

By Eric Pfeiffer, Yahoo! News | The Sideshow – Fri, Oct 19, 2012

A cat led its owner into an ancient Roman tomb that may be 2,000 years old. (AFP/Reuters)Mirko Curti was chasing his cat through the streets of his village on Tuesday night when the cat inadvertently discovered a set of ancient Roman ruins.

"The cat managed to get into a grotto and we followed the sound of its meowing," Curti told the Guardian.

When he caught up to the animal, it had crawled into an opening in the side of a cliff. Inside the opening, Curti stumbled upon a 2,000-year-old tomb "piled with bones" and ancient Roman urns.

The tomb was discovered just outside a residential area in the Roman city of Via di Pietralata.

Archeologists who were called to the site have speculated that it dates back to sometime between the 1st century B.C. and the 2nd century A.D.

Curti described the discovery as "the most incredible experience" of his life.

The archeologists said that recent rains in the area were likely responsible for exposing the tomb and noted that several other similar discoveries have been made in the area in recent years.
