Nah...Datsik and Excision did a Lil Wayne dubstep remix. They used the same beat from that remix in the Biochemical Equation remix. Basically just replaced the Lil Wayne vocals with RZA and MF Doom.

    Scuba was Sickkkkkkk

sick as in how? Did you hear new tracks? Did the set have a cohesion to it? did it take the crowd emotion up and down? was it just bass, or did the tracks make you dance? Did he play alot of his own tracks? Or was it just some huge tracks thrown together like a rusko jock rock set?

I am not trying to call you out or anything, but I think some people in LA esp. need to raise the expectations of these guys. Its what separates the real DJs from the high school talent show. Unsatisfied crowds is what will push everyone further.

Now, if people just thought it was cool to hear dubstep on a proper system, thats cool. But its not my idea of anything new or sick, or cool.

Sorry if i sound like a jack ass, but ever since clubing got cool again around the mid decade, all the jocks that used to talk ish are the same ones that think every dubstep track is sick...

again no offense to you mang

not really. it's a bit of everything...but mostly derived from garage. most of the examples of "jungle" you posted are rubbish too...now that's you want jungle and proper emcees....

jah...there already are a couple threads for dnb and jungle. no need to bash...and if you want real "half time dnb"...that's an entire other sub genre that's been in the works for a bit (drumstep, dnbstep, etc.)...although i'm not a fan of genrefication. hazard's been putting out quite a few tunes like that. drums are half time similar to dubstep, but it's still dnb cause it's still fast...beats 86+bpm and rest of the tune 174+.

ROFL i clicked on the first one and i'm scared to click on the other pop like corny crap you posted up that was the fall of jungle - that whole sound came after the underground kind of like how hip-hop was kiiled off and how progressive music made house die and really ghey. do research son.

wasn't knocking it but if you like dubstep, there is some chance that you might like where it was derived from. it's pretty much all the same isht.

i think i'm gonna start bootlegging dubstep and making it jungle

haha...what i posted is jungle...original jungle foundation straight from breakbeat rave...you know, nothing but chopped up breaks, 808 and sine bass. none of that techy, sci-fi, mid-range bass, cookie cutter garbage. what you posted was the downfall of jungle...and anyone who was around during the "golden era" would agree with me...including remarc. most of what i posted was from circa 93-94...stevie hyper d the only thing later. i don't need to do my research...my record collection says enough. you just dissed the foundation of jungle thinking you know what you're talking about...

i like all genres...and like i said...dubstep's primarily derived from garage, not drum and bass. all electronic music overlaps and has shared elements...but if you want to get technical and talk about history...please know what you're talking about.

keep reading wiki for your knowledge

That's your come back? I don't need wiki for my knowledge. Like I said, my knowledge of the history of jungle is my record collection. Over 5,000 records and I really don't collect anything after 98 unless it's indie ragga or something representing the original sound. Been involved in the rave scene since the early 90s and seen the music evolve first hand.

You probably don't DJ or even produce, and if you do, you probably only play mp3s downloaded off slsk or cds. I could care less, because you've already proved you know nothing about the foundation and dissed the originators. Everything you posted came years later after what I posted and you call it the downfall? What does that say about your knowledge of jungle history? I still rock out parties with people dancing all night (so hard that my records skip), brocking out and flashing their lighters in my face to old school jungle and my own dubplates.

Hell man, you're from Chicago and if you were around the scene at the time it was at its prime you could have witnessed some of the most amazing jungle parties ever. 95 Brockout was monumental, but you already dissed that. Also had Snuggles' Strictly Jungle radio show on WNUR which was pretty much the first jungle weekly in the nation that brought in godless amounts of UK talent.

Listen to the real isht: http://www.goldenerajungle.com

Back on topic...dubstep is the isht because it's one of the only genres around currently that represents bits of every single other electronic genre out there. There are no rules with the production. I've heard plenty of straight up old school jungle tunes remixed or sampled and everything from house to dance tracks like the percolator to old school breakbeat rave, which is another newer genre becoming known more as fidget house. Hearing the same samples used in a completely different form is what makes it interesting and brings back the nostalgia.

If you want to say it's bootlegged dnb, then current dnb is just bootlegged house and trance, and in all reality, it really is...because when jungle started it's downfall was when dudes like Dieselboy started sampling trance and house tunes. Anything with a reese or mentasm is jacked. Anything that samples anything is jacked and therefore 99% of all electronic is bootlegged unless you're producing strictly with synthesis like old school house and techno.

On another dubstep tip, my homie Conscious Pilot has a new weekly show every sunday starting around 8PM EST. Playing mostly exclusive dubs, including NEPA locals: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/...bstep

I was just going by his logic. It's a preset on a Juno-2 and can be created easily on any synth or vst with multiple oscillators. Although, it was jacked directly from Beltram on nearly every early jungle tune that used it.

Studio Rockers @ At The Controls came out not too long ago. Just a mix comp. Burial is supposed to be remixing Massive Attack's new album, Heligoland. Should be out around February I think.

Martyn's Fabric mix is due in Jan(UK) Feb (US).

Waiting on Joker's album for sure!

I also can't get enough of Silkie's City Limits. It's jazzy, funky, very melodic and just damn fun to listen to!

word, but he's the one who came in this thread claiming dubstep is just stolen dnb by posting horrible examples of emcees and dnb...he then further claims that 93-95 jungle was the downfall of jungle and somehow jungle produced after that time magically came before it.
