Anyone know of a site where you can buy tracks? I'd really like to download some unmixed tracks.

    http://www.boomkat.com/

They have a growing selection of downloadable stuff, but still mostly vinyl. Great selection though of all types of electronic music.

Nice one on the Meat Beat Manifesto suggestion. I haven't heard them since I saw them open for Prodigy in '99.

Everyone should definietly check out this site: http://www.getdarker.com/audio/sets/

Loads of free sets from Skream, Distance, Cyrus, N-Type, Hatcha etc.

And of course I hope everyone tunes in to BBC Radio1 for Mary Anne Hobbs, she's been pushing this sound heavily since '04 or so.

    Big ups!

    nice one bruv!

I think it's only been mentioned once but definitely check out Milanese. His album, Extend, is borderline disturbing in a aural sense....but I like it ;-) Lots of crunch, a bit demonic sounding @ times and brutal but definitely fun listening!!

Buddy of mine was just talking about Milanese and told me to check him out.

Two recommendations in one weeks is plenty for me! Thanks.

You guys may want to check out the latest Meat Beat Manifesto album, Autoimmune. It's all kinds of Dubstep. MBM has been a huge influence on electronic music for about 20 years and has always been heavily influenced by dub, so in essence they're not only electronic pioneers but dubstep pioneers. On this album they've fully embraced the recent dubstep sound.

Finally grabbed this and I am impressed! Heavy heavy sounds but a good headphone album too.

OC is trying to get a local scene, but they dont have the proper sound system and dont seem to understand that the sound system is the most important thing to really enjoy Dubstep.

Its been hard since I moved from the bay area to find a quality scene in OC. For most electronic music. Sad really, I thought it would be easy.

****. super late pass on this, but burial's untrue is so damn good! had it for a while but i wasn't feeling it at first. this doesn't even seem like dubstep, but i see it's being called that.

anything else to check out from him?

i pretty much answered my own question, i got Burial's self titled album also. to be honest, i don't know if its because i played the living **** out of Untrue, but i don't like his self titled as much. i think it's the lack of the obscure pitched up samples...and maybe the lack of the more abstract / ambient sounds. 'forgive' is my favorite from that album though.

I have both the Burial albums, and I like them both equally. Untrue grew on me, I wasn't blown away by it at first but I found myself wanting to keep listening and it's been in rotation ever since.
I like the self-titled album more for the times when I just want some background music. Without as many vocal tracks it seems more mellow to me.
Either way I think they are both great albums

I played the sh*t outta the self titled and could...not...stop. Loved it. U Hurt Me & Gutted are the highlights for me. FYI some of his samples are from the Jim Jarmusch film Ghost Dog (with Forrest Whitaker) and the last "Untitled" track (about the guy going into the bathroom for some asprin) is from the terrible Mothman Prophecies.

Untrue is great as well, but I almost like the self titled better.

yeah definitely, he's very subjective and i can see people loving all sorts of different things about him. his self titled is great, just something about those pitched vocals i'm loving.

that's awesome though. i heard he also sampled metal gear solid and silent hill 3 for untrue.

the last 70 something seconds of Shell of Light.... so damn perfect.

(which is also a sample of (a cover of?) ernie halter - whisper)

I went to see them at Nuemo's earlier this year, great set. I hadn't seen them since Subliminal Sandwich in 96 (which was a bit of a disappointment because I was into the more abrasive early stuff, and that tour was very dub-oriented). I lost interest with Actual Sounds + Voices, and didn't check out anything since then until recently. RUOK? is pretty good and Autoimmune is better.

    I just grabbed this:

    Tracklist:
    01. Skream - Tribal Intro
    02. Skream - The Shinein
    03. DLX - Matter of Facts (Breakage's Relatively Speaking Mix)
    04. Mala - Mountain Dread March
    05. Skream - If You Know
    06. Benni Page & Zero G - Pan Pipes
    07. Hit N Run - Bad Out
    08. Noah D & No Thing - Unknown Suspect
    09. Seven - Siren
    10. Seven - Dark Passenger
    11. Smut - Badman Place
    12. Benga - Better
    13. Kutz - Twilight Zone
    14. Skream - Filth
    15. Kulture - Diesel
    16. Benga - Benga's Off His Head
    17. Rusko - Soundboy My Target
    18. Skream - Simple City
    19. Babylon System & Noah D - Examination Of Time
    20. Skream - Fick
    21. Benga - 26 Basslines V.I.P
    22. Breakage - Together
    23. Benga - Sleep Another Day
    24. TC - Where's My Money (Caspa Remix)
    25. Black Ganion - Method (Goth Trad Remix)
    26. Skream - Meta-Lick
    27. Rufige Kru - Shanghai Nights
    28. Late - Saw, Sine, Square

I still can't get over Breakage's dubstep tunes. His dnb is phenomenal (very close to Amit in sound) and his dubstep is mindblowing. All in all a good mix but alot of the tracks are pretty played and I was hoping for a few more dubplates or unreleased stuff.

Got me bobbin' pretty good though!

Thanks. Looks like it's sold out on Amazon.

I was just looking for a d/l. I'd be willing to pay for a legal version.
