For the record MR ARNO WHO LOVES CAPS the place you guys go to is nice and I'm sure for most of you guys its not far. But for me its pretty damn far. Haha. I can do the ride to that shopping center we met at but the BWW is mad far for me.

I want to be able to come out but its going to have to be a every once in a while or maybe once every month or 2. Just too far. I got home at like 12.
      I'm old, remember?

I F@#KIN HATE CAPS!!! jk They are ok sometimes, mostly at the beginning of sentences though.lol
I hear your pain yuk. Ever since we lost No Name pizza in Newark we've been a loss for a place to hang out. Cops literally chase people out of every possible place to chill in Newark. And the couple places to hang out in Elkton are over run by r!cers. It's really $hitty. I'm always down to try something/someplace new though.

Hmm, you need the speedo cable? I cut the one on the pumpkin trans bc it was held in with a phillips head and i couldn't get it out. But lmk what you need, i might be able to find something.

i need the actual gear that was on the cable that goes into the trans. should. its held in by that phillips screw. haha!!
also, anybody no if there where differant length throttle cables per year difference with the manual trans setup in an 8v?

      Ciao,

Are there any common ignition problems on MK1/MK2's? With the ignition switch, and/or starter wires? I have to crank the car to keep it running, as soon as I let off it dies. Just trying to find some places to look first thanks.

It won't start, or dies while running?
That said, old german ground wiring sucks. If it's stock replace and go a bit fatter.

Hey ya'll, haven't been on here for a looooong time. Hope all the old skool heads have been doing well. I'm searching for an exhaust manifold & downpipe for the Mk2, wanted to ask ya'll for some help.

It only runs if the key is held, and I can't hold the starter too long though... Before this it wasn't getting fuel as the fuel pump was bad, so I replaced it. So check the starter ground wire? I have replaced the ground wire for the battery, and the battery itself. thanks

I would start with the ignition switch, you have been at this for at least a month now have'nt you? When you described it to me last you said you could turn the key really far, farther than normal and that was the only way to get it to run. You can even disconnet the starter solenoid wire and put a meter on it to save your starter, for testing. Call me sometime and we can get together to look at it. Ignition switches for that car are 8.00 dollars from GAP, order it
