Did some more work tonight..went to Mason Dixon Junkyard and scored a section of wiring harness + plugs/sockets for the drivers side lighting wiring.

Started to work on the actual car around 730 and got done at about 930 after testing everything multiple times.

Here is what I came to fix:

The wiring was even WORSE on the passenger side

After cleaning some things up, cutting to length and such, here are the wires grafted in:

And then last but not least here is the group of wiring ziptied together to prevent anything from coming loose, and then I tucked it under the frame rail and up through the fender.

Finally all of my lights function as they should, and my turn signals are 100% normal paced.

Not to nitpick but those "grafted" wires look awfully bulky, how did you join the wires? Solder & shrink wrap/tubing with electrical tape around them?

The wires are large and bulky on the connector side to begin with, I unfortunately used butt connectors as I do not own (nor do I have access to) a soldiering iron. Which is why everything looks bulky.

They were wrapped a few times around to make sure they were secure and then as I mentioned in the post, I zip tied both ends of the wiring to prevent any un wanted movement. I will eventually go over them and resoldier when the time comes. Either way everything works the way it should and I should be able to pass inspection now.

Ahh... okay, makes sense. If you need any help with the soldering/rewiring lemme know. I work at my dad's business, which is in the industry for aftermarket vehicle wiring, and I'd be glad to lend a hand.

Hey brofthas & sistas, I'm looking to P&P a spare cyl. head for my Mk2, and start building a new motor. If anyone here knows or could recommend someone, or a shop to P&P, and re-build the head afterwards, I would appreciate it. Thanks............ ~ Rob.

Well i think the VR motor is toast....2 days ago I was driving and this guy fly up behind me i thought he was going to rear-end me so i downshifted to 2nd from 3rd and took off the issue is I hit the rev limiter....the motor seemed like it was missing/ sputtering when i drove it home which was about 1/4 mile away. let if run abit and seemed like it sorted its self out. drove to the Y that day no problem. well today on the way to work i was on the 95 and the car started to sputter again. Sounded like it was missing. I drove it straight to my girlfriends house since it was the cloest place to not just leave it on the road on the way to work but it cleared up but than started to run bad again. it smells bad . I wonder if it jumped timing and bent valves or could it be something else because when i got to my girls house it still ran bad. This Fing car has been nothing but bull**** since day one

I have had my old 12v on the limiter for what is probably a day's time collectively. A little hit of the limiter isn't a thing at all.

It could just be that whatever if F'n with your car has gotten worse. Should be much easier to find now.

Do you think a VAG COM would give me a clue what the issue is? If so Would someone be willing to come by Union st and scan the car since the car is running like ass and a little afraid to drive it unless i have to because it feels like its going to die. I have also hit the limiter before but never had this issue.

Jay it sounds like your MAF is going bad. Mine just pooped on me on Monday and I had similar symptoms. Good luck man, sorry about your trouble.

Start it and see if it runs better with the MAF unplugged. If so, there's your problem.
