dont worry about wires. take out the switch, get a small piece of electrical tape and cover the TFL pin on the back of the headlight switch. plug it back in and voila.

there aren't any wires, bro. there's a series of pins on the back of the switch. (after you take it out.) just put some tape over the tff (i think that's what its labeled) pin. you don't need no stinking pictures

  4. 12-22-2006 03:13 AM #4
push light switch in and turn...it will lock in the pushed and turned position ...then you pull it out.

disconnect the harness from the back of the switch.

put a small piece of electrical tape over the TFL pin or if you wan this to be permanent just bend the pin off..

you will see what I'm talkin about once you get it out...the pin says TFL directly under it

euro switch ftw.. city lights > running lights

  16. 12-22-2006 10:16 AM #16
even with the euro switch you'll have drl.. So your gonna have to bend the tfl tab. 1 min mod... All you need is some needle nose pilers, and one hand... Fastest and best mod ever.

In my Golf, I used tape. For some reason the wiring harness in my GTI had more bite to it and would just chew up the tape, so I just bent the sucker.

why don't people just pull the TFL wire out of the connector? I mean, it is a bit of a pain to do, but when you want to sell it and put it back, you just snap the wire back into the harness plug.

it's easy and takes 2 seconds, put it on over the top. Like a condom if you know how to use one. I see so many people try to wrap it around the piece and they say "it didn't work", yeah because the tape did not block anything and it still makes a connection.

  25. 02-08-2008 01:40 PM #25
I had some trouble with the tape, I just bent mine down.

    take this

put it in just to the right of the steering wheel and turn

get out and walk to the front of the car... it should look something like this

I just bent the TFL pin down towards the middle of the switch. It doesn't go into it's place, it doesn't connect.
